Project Summary
The project intends to complement an existing mobile team named Mobile Protection Unit (MPU) of Amel, in partnership with SamuSocial International, in the regions of Beirut and its southern suburbs. The aim of those teams is fighting against the exclusion of people in street situations, by reaching out to vulnerable people, to propose medico-social care. This project wants to strengthen the service offered by adding specialized interventions on gender-based violence (GBV), mental health, and awareness-raising on situations of exclusion.
The project is estimated to last until December 31, 2025.
Responsibility #1: Implementation of Project Activities
- Interact with people during the street round to explain the Mobile Protection Unit aim
- Identify, assess, and intervene with vulnerable population such as children, youth and families and referring them to relevant service providers,
- Refer GBV survivors to relevant service provider and following up in coordination with the GBV facilitator
- Safely identify and refer protection and child protection cases inside and outside the organization
- Conduct recreational activities with street-connected children, youth and families
- Conduct awareness activities on topics such as child rights, safety…
- Provide Psychosocial Support Group Sessions with street-connected children, youth and families
- Set an outreach plan to include children, young adults and caregivers in recreational, educational and parenting activities.
Responsibility #2: Reporting and Coordination
- Report the diagnosis in the individual file
- Report activities on technical data sheets
- Coordinate internally with the team members and Amel staff
- Coordinate with stakeholders, partners and other external services
- Participate in technical meetings to study the cases
- Participate in daily briefing and weekly meeting
- Participate in sessions and meetings with other Amel staff and with partners
- Support in the development and implementation of activities (with external stakeholders or internally at Amel)
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
A Degree in social work, psychology, or relevant field
At least two years of working experience within the field with vulnerable populations
Excellent reporting skills
Excellent Arabic skills, English is preferred, French is a plus
Demonstrated ability for active listening, stress management and dealing with difficult scenarios
Proficiency in Microsoft Office- especially Microsoft Word and Excel (Powerpoint is a plus)
Knowledge in GBV is a plus
Strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skill and communication skills
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Important to note that the work is within a mobile unit on the field
