Childhood Rescue (CHR) is a program that is implemented under the FCPA Approach in Tripoli. The CHR program is funded by WVC, implemented in Tripoli in partnership with four local Non-Governmental organizations in Tripoli. The CHR aims to strengthen the urban resilience of the most vulnerable women, men, girls and boys in the fragile context of Tripoli city, specifically in Tabbaneh, Qobbeh, Jabal Mohsen and Beb al Ramel. This advertisement aims to recruit Child Council facilitator to facilitate sessions and enable children to implement initaitives in collaboration with the project partners.

The child councils are established in collaboration with the project partners. The Role of the partners is to collaborate in this activity, contextualize & harness the councils’ activities based on the local context, and host the training sessions and provide an incubator for the child councils in their centers in the above mentioned areas in Tripoli over the course of the implementation.

Job Summary:

The aim of this job is to facilitate 50 hours training sessions for 2 children councils in Tripoli to be able to implement a community initiative that addresses child rights, specific CP concerns and advocacy work between May and July 2024.

Tasks:

  • Attend & participate in safeguarding, children’s council methodology, CP, PSEA, SIR training, and working in line with WV’s safeguarding policy and Code of Conduct.
  • Cascade the trainings to the children based on the need
  • Register Children who will be participating in the children council activity
  • Attend trainings and capacity building opportunities as required by WVL
  • Assess and understand the needs and capacities of children and provide tailored training and coaching on child rights, specific CP concerns and advocacy work
  • Refer cases in line with existing inter-agency referral mechanisms and internal WV guidance to the project facilitator.
  • Sign consents forms with children and their caregivers.
  • Supervise and treat children with dignity and respect.
  • Ensure the safety, dignity and participation of disabled children.
  • Give children the care, education and development they deserve. Support professional and comprehensive intervention services for children.
  • Support children in planning and conducting the initiatives.
  • Report weekly on achievements, challenges, target to the project team
  • Send weekly plans to the Project team.
  • File all project means of verifications (MOV), important records and correspondences related to the children councils’ sessions. Enter them into the system, including attendance sheets, minutes of meetings and evaluation documents while ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Abide by the security policies and procedures, be responsible of own security and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.
  • Be aware of the emergency procedures in a response and ensure that necessary preparedness measures have been implemented after coordination with Project Facilitator.

Minimum requirement:

  • Bachelor degree in education and social development related field (Mathematics, Arabic Literature, French/English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, psychology, sociology, social sciences/humanities, specialized education or social animation) or LT in education
  • Essential proven experience in Preparing and facilitating CP/ safeguarding/GESI and other Topics in disadvantaged urban communities and vulnerable groups as needed.
  • Capable of dealing with children who have experienced war distress
  • Capable of Enabling Children to implement community initiative in Tripoli
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge in using MS-Word / MS-Excel – Intermediate Level
  • Facilitators are required to attend Child Protection, GESI and AAP Training before they start facilitating with children. Ability to work under pressure.
