Background

“Chabibeh Club” was established in 2002 and is registered at the Lebanese Ministry of Youth and Sports (License Nb. 35 SH/R). Today, it is a member of 6 Lebanese sports federations, and participates yearly at national tournaments and competitions. Since its founding, the organization used sport as a tool to positively integrate young people in their society, and to develop their competences to empower them physically, socially, educationally, culturally and professionally.

In 2008, “Chabibeh Club” founded the “Chabibeh Youth” department which is working closely and in strong collaboration with the “Chabibeh Sports” department, offering a one-of-a-kind experience and a safe, interactive and supportive environment where young people can practice their favorite activity, build friendships, and acquire lifetime skills through sports and local and international projects. Sports, Youth Empowerment, Youth Participation, Volunteering, and Social Development became the main areas of focus for the organization whether through “Chabibeh Sports” or “Chabibeh Youth”.

Since 2009, “Chabibeh Club” partners with European and Mediterranean organizations to develop and implement youth projects offering young women and men the chance to take part in exchanges, volunteering projects and training workshops in Europe and in Lebanon. Chabibeh Club is also a member of the “Anna Lindh Foundation”.

Chabibeh Club is a 100% community-based volunteering organization that relies on volunteers to offer all its activities on a daily basis. These volunteers then get a priority to take on short term jobs at the organization when we have funded projects, as well as a priority to participate in our international mobility opportunities.

Chabibeh Youth Center and Learning Lab CYCLL

The “Chabibeh Youth Center and Learning Lab” CYCLL offers youth in Lebanon the opportunity to learn, develop and engage by organizing their own initiatives, interacting with international volunteers and supporting our activities through outreach, communication, and capacity development. In addition, they are offered the chance to participate in international exchange projects under Erasmus Plus and European Solidarity Corps.

Volunteering opportunities available for summer 2024

• Communication: during the summer of 2024, we would like to organize our projects database by developing info and impact sheets for each project implemented by Chabibeh Club. The volunteer can work anywhere. An introductory session and an onboarding will be provided.
• Data collection, entry and analysis: we have a large number of youth that take part in international mobility projects and we would like to create a database from which we can extract stats and also track participation.
• Website update: our website is very basic and developed on WordPress. We need a volunteer who can work on WordPress basics and support us in updating it.
• Outreach: In October 2024, we will launch the new CYCLL for 2024/2025. We need to outreach young people aged between 14 and 18 interested to join a capacity development project through which they take part in training workshops and design and implement community initiatives.
