Project Manager for Violence Against Elderly Ministerial Meeting

Project Background
The inaugural Global Conference on Ending Violence Against Elderly, in Washington, USA, will be a landmark event in the global effort to combat violence affecting elderly. It promises to be a catalyst for significant global policy shifts in favor of elderly safety and well-being.
The organizers of the conference have committed to an inclusive approach that not only recognizes the wide spectrum of violence against elderly but also places a significant emphasis on incorporating the voices and leadership of survivors throughout the event's duration as well as seeking to involve survivors in national consultations and key events leading up to the conference. ElderTree Lebanon and KATI have been invited to be partners of the conference and are looking for someone to help project manage and activate the engagement opportunity.
Objective & Consultant Responsibilities:
To lead the coordination and management of the joint ElderTree Lebanon and KATI Movement engagement in the VAE Ministerial conference. In detail this will include:
Organization:
- Serve as the primary lead for all matters related to the VAE Meeting, overseeing the planning, execution, and post-event activities.
- Ensuring monthly (currently) Washington Working Group meetings are scheduled, agenda prepared and actions shared, and chairing and taking minutes as required.
- Keep Action log up to date.
Coordination:
- Oversight of the Washington Slack Channel.
- Oversight and organization of Washington documents on Google Drive.
- Identify and connect key areas of overlap/support between the different strands of ElderTree Lebanon and KATI to maximize cooperation, coordination and impact.
- Ownership of workstream - mapping/timelines, featuring key events between now and the Meeting.
Strategy:
- Oversee high-level ElderTree Lebanon/KATI goals and understanding of what success looks like including the facilitation of the development of a key target list of 3-5 countries for influence.
Communications:
- Oversee the development and distribution of key messaging across ElderTree Lebanon, KATI and supporters in the lead-up and during the Meeting.
- Potential support for an in-person activation at the conference
- Map out internal comms requirements and ensure internal messaging.
- On-site coordination- Coordinating the delegation at the conference in person in Washington
Timeframe & Estimated Hours:
Duration: 6 months
Start of contract (ASAP) - June 14, 2024: 8-16 hours/week
June 17 - September 6: 20-30 hours/week
September 9 - November 8: 30 -40 hours/week
November 11 - 29: Post-event follow-up and lessons learned
Qualifications
Demonstrable project management expertise, with a strong background in non-profit, public health.
Exceptional organizational and coordination skills, capable of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrable and substantial experience in delegation coordination and management for global, regional, or national events.
Experience working with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Experience managing and coordinating a delegation while at a high-level event.
Strong organizational and facilitation skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
A deep commitment to ElderTree Lebanon's mission and an understanding of the KATI movement's objectives, with a dedicated passion for ending violence against elderly.
Candidates must possess fluency and proficiency in English.
Reporting to: ElderTree Lebanon Senior Director of Communications
Budget: Between $60,000 and $70,000
