World Learning – Porticus - Member of the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Advocacy Network

The Porticus-funded project “Towards a Social and Emotional Learning Policy for Children in Lebanon” aims to devise a national roadmap toward establishing solid foundations to facilitate the development of a comprehensive SEL policy for Lebanon. Such SEL policy will ensure a systematic integration and institutionalization of a SEL culture into both formal and non-formal educational system.

World Learning has an immediate vacancy for a consultancy position, “Member of the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Advocacy Network” for the Porticus-funded “Towards a Social and Emotional Learning Policy for Children in Lebanon”. The aim of the network is to drive the momentum for change in attitude and knowledge around the importance of SEL for children and the wider community. The network will have eight advocacy groups representing the eight governorates in Lebanon. This position is for a Lebanese national.
Scope and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be a regional representative (according to his/her place of work) to advocate for implementing SEL and carry out activities to promote SEL in the region. His/ her responsibilities will include:

• Propose and plan local activities in schools and communities aiming at promoting SEL in different geographic areas in Lebanon.
• Participate in an introductory session to understand the role and objectives of the SEL advocacy network.
• Attend monthly meetings for the advocacy network.
• Liaise with community members to increase knowledge and raise awareness on the importance of SEL.
• Participate in training or workshops as needed as part of capacity building.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other members of the advocacy network to implement the needed activities.
• Inform on successes and challenges related to the activities.
• Prepare progress reports and action steps within their geographic locations.

Required Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, or any related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in education as a practitioner (teacher, principal, advisor, consultant, etc.) in the public or private sector.
• Proven experience in volunteering, networking, and leadership.
• Proficiency in Arabic language. Fundamental knowledge of another language is a plus (English or French).
• Excellent communicational and organizational skills.
• Ability to understand and function within local context and with people of different opinions.
• Ability to function as a creative planner and implementer of activities.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn about SEL and advocate for educational change.
• Basic computer skills and use of technology.
• Flexibility and availability.

Duration of the Assignment
Consultancy period for 1 month with possibilities of renewal based on funds availability.

يهدف المشروع الممول من Porticus  الى وضع خارطة طريق نحو سياسة وطنية للتعلّم الاجتماعي الانفعالي (SEL) في لبنان. ستضمن هذه  السياسة التكامل المنهجي وإضفاء الطابع المؤسّساتي على ثقافة التعلّم الاجتماعي والانفعالي (SEL) في التعليم النظامي وغير النظامي.

لدى منظمة التعلّم العالمي World Learning حاليًّا فرصة عمل مؤقته لمنصب (تعاقد استشاري)، بصفة " عضو في شبكة مناصرة ودعم التعلّم الاجتماعي الانفعالي (SEL) ". تهدف هذه الشبكة إلى كسب الدعم و حشد الجهود من أجل تغيير المواقف والمعرفة بشأن أهميّة التعلّم الاجتماعي الانفعالي (SEL) للأطفال بشكل خاص، ومن ثمّ للمجتمع على نطاق أوسع. وستضمّ الشبكة أعضاء في ثماني مجموعات دعم تمثل محافظات لبنان الثماني. هذه الوظيفة مخصّصة للمواطنين اللبنانيّين فقط.

• o النطاق والمسؤوليّات

سيكون المرشّح المُختار ممثّلًا محلّيًا (وفقًا لمكان عمله) لدعم التعلّم الاجتماعي الانفعالي (SEL) وتنفيذ الأنشطة الهادفة إلى تعزيز هذا النوع من التعلّم في المنطقة الّتي يمثّلها. وستشمل مسؤولياتـه ما يأتي:

• اقتراح وتخطيط الأنشطة المحليّة في المدارس والمجتمعات الّتي تهدف إلى تعزيز التعلّم الاجتماعي الانفعالي (SEL) في مناطق متنوعة من لبنان.
• المشاركة في جلسة تمهيديّة لفهم دور وأهداف شبكة مناصرة و دعم التعلّم الاجتماعي الانفعالي (SEL).
• حضور الاجتماعات الشهريّة للشبكة.
• التواصل مع أفراد المجتمع لزيادة معرفتهم ورفع وعيهم بأهميّة التعلّم الاجتماعي الانفعالي (SEL).
• المشاركة في الدورات التدريبيّة أو ورش العمل حسب الحاجة، كجزء من عملية بناء القدرات.
• التنسيق والتعاون مع سائر أعضاء شبكة الدعم من أجل تنفيذ الأنشطة المطلوبة.
• الإبلاغ عن النجاحات والتحدّيات المتعلّقة بهذه الأنشطة.
• إعداد تقارير مرحليّة عن سير العمل وخطواته ضمن النطاق الجغرافي للعمل.

• o المؤهّلات المطلوبة

• إجازة في علوم التربية أو العلوم الاجتماعيّة أو في أيّ مجال ذي صلة. الماجستير ميزة إضافيّة.
• خبرة لا تقلّ عن 7 سنوات في المجال التربوي  (معلّم، مدير، مستشار، مرشد، إلخ) في القطاع العامّ أو الخاصّ.
• خبرة مثبتة في مجال العمل التطوّعي والتواصل (الشبكي / الاجتماعيّ) والقيادة.
• إجادة اللغة العربيّة. الإلمام بالمبادئ الأساسيّة للّغة أخرى (الإنكليزيّة أو الفرنسيّة) ميزة إضافيّة.
• امتلاك مهارات تواصليّة وتنظيميّة ممتازة.
• القدرة على فهم السياق المحلي والعمل ضمن  إطاره ، ومع أشخاص ذوي خلفيات مختلفة.  
• القدرة على العمل الابتكاري في تخطيط وتنفيذ الأنشطة.  
• القدرة على العمل الفريقي.
• الاستعداد للتعمّق  في معرفة التعلم الاجتماعي الانفعالي (SEL) ودعم التغيير التربوي في هذا الخصوص.
• امتلاك مهارات الكمبيوتر الأساسيّة، والقدرة على استخدام التكنولوجيا.
• التمتع بالمرونة والجهوزيّة.

• o مدّة الوظيفة

فترة استشاريّة لمدّة شهر واحد مع إمكانيّة تجديدها إذا توافر التمويل.
