Overall Responsibility
Under the supervision of Project Engineer, Project Engineer Assistant is responsible to implement, monitor the construction activities, follow up and supervise with the counterparties (contractor, Worker and stakeholders).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing bill of quantities (BOQ) for the unit technically evaluated on the field.
- Review the design.
- Field supervision of the construction/ rehabilitation of the Unit.
- Managing, directing and monitoring progress during each phase of a project.
- Daily visits to the construction sites assessing the quality and quantity of the work done by the contractor (very good knowledge of materials, specification and prices).
- Dealing with contractors/ workers/ sub- contractors/ owner/ other stakeholders.
- Attending weekly meetings on the field with all the interested in this work.
- Reporting the construction situation of the project.
- Analyze survey, mapping and materials-testing data with computer modelling software.
- Draw up shopdrawings and as built drawing, using computer aided design (cad) packages.
- Coordinate with IRL staff and key stakeholders regarding services in all its aspects.
- Ensure that standards (e.g safety, security, environmental, quantity, quality) are followed during service provision.
- Gather and share appropriate information that would enhance the project implementation.
- Ensure that all Services- related data (e.g, activity monitoring) is well managed and provides an accurate representation of the reality on the ground.
- Submit regular reports to line management.
Experience / Education/Skills- Essential
- A bachelor degree from an accredited University with major course Civil Engineering or Related Field.
- Minimum 3 years of relative experience, preferred with international NGOs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal & technical skills.
- To be ready to work overtime and readiness to travel.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to take initiatives if required.
- Ability to multi-task effectively as well as display professionalism and confidence.
Ability To
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Read, comprehend and interpret written materials of moderate to complex difficulty.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of assignment.
- Word-processing, spreadsheet and database software programs related to job functions.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Language
Fluency in English & Arabic (written and spoken).
IT skills
- V. Good computer skills.
- Proficiency in MS office and the ability to use software necessary for project management and reporting.

- Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
