1. About La Chaîne de l’Espoir

Founded in 1994, La Chaîne de l’Espoir (CDE) is an international NGO headquartered in Paris, France. Its mission is to strengthen healthcare systems and provide to everyone, especially children, equal chances and opportunities of survival and development. CDE is currently active in twenty-seven (27) countries.

CDE has been implementing humanitarian activities in Lebanon since 2005, working through local partners. Late 2020, CDE opened its mission in Lebanon to respond to growing needs. Since then, CDE is implementing activities related to the tertiary healthcare, including several aspects such as the strengthening of the healthcare system, early detection of congenital orthopedics disorders, psychosocial support, etc. – via direct and indirect (through local partners) implementation.

2. Project background

CDE is implementing a project to better prevent, detect, and treat Congenital Orthopedic Disorders (COD) until end of February 2024. This project includes various types of treatment such as surgeries, casting, assisting devices, and physiotherapy for children of ages 0 to 18. In the frame of this project, CDE is looking for a physiotherapist consultant / physiotherapy company who are able to provide regular physiotherapy sessions (up to 3 times per week) for patients in Wadi Khaled and/or Aarsal.

 

3. General objectives of the assignment:

- Diagnose the physical capacities of the patients

- Provide adequate physiotherapy treatment (Regular sessions)

-Teach and educate parents on patient care and home rehabilitation

 

4. Locations / Scope:

- Aarsal area

- Wadi Khaled area

 

5. Requirements (administrative/legal, logistic, technical)

1. Administrative/Legal:

- Member of the Order of Physiotherapist in Lebanon

 

2. Technical:

- Has proven capacity of physical therapy diagnosis

- Capable to travel to different home care settings

- Has all needed equipment to provide care

- Proficient in specific and appropriate testing

- Proficient in applying physiotherapy plans treatment

- Able to choose the right treatment and methodology

 

3. Soft Skills:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Able to establish a good relationship with patients and their families

- Excellent organizational skills

- Listening skills

Able to synthesize

- Flexibility and commitment

- Empathetic and patient
