MEAL Assistant - (Pending Donor’s Approval)

Under the supervision of the MEAL coordinator, the MEAL assistant is responsible for conducting monitoring activities, data collection, ensure data quality, analyse, support in generating reports and FCRM for a food security project in Akkar. The position requires a significant amount of fieldwork and movement within the region of implementation.

Data Collection Process

• Support in developing assessments for monitoring purposes in coordination with the program team and MEAL coordinator
• Review and update the current data collection tools
• Support in conducting assessments, surveys, post distribution monitoring etc. with different stakeholders
• Support in planning and preparing for data collection activities.
• Conduct FGDs, KIIs and case studies with different stakeholders
• Support in training and supervising enumerators

FCRM (Feedback Complaints and Response Mechanisms) + Referrals

• Operate feedback hotline in cooperation with MEAL Coordinator be able to respond to beneficiaries’ questions
• Ensure managing complaints in proper and protected way
• Ensure make the needed referrals for people in need internally and externally

Field visits

• Conduct spot checks to implementation locations (shops
• Support the program team in distributions
• Conduct spot checks in hygiene awareness sessions.
• Support in conducting pre -post test for awareness sessions.

Reporting and communication

• Support in creating MEAL reports
• Provide field visits reports to the MEAL coordinator
• Report the work progress or any problem or issue to the MEAL coordinator

Your competences:

• Bachelor’s degree in international development, Management information system, social science, statistics, Public administration, humanitarian action, or any related field
• 2 years of professional experience in humanitarian and development organization
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications and data collection tools like Kobo
• Previous experience with NGO/INGO is an asset
• Previous experience in MEAL for food security and/or agricultural projects providing cash assistance is an asset
