PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The communications department at ARK Group is recruiting a Beirut-based Videographer and Editor to support filming and original content creation for an online platform promoting political accountability, women empowerment, political participation, and education on citizens’ rights in Lebanon. The objective of the platform is to encourage and support citizens and civil society to engage in and influence change that results in or contributes to greater efficiency, responsiveness and/or accountability.

The role serves two key purposes: 1) create visual products of project partners, activities (sub-grantees) and events, and 2) publish high-quality content on the project platform.

ABOUT YOU:

Candidates interested in this role should be familiar with the history and current situation in Lebanon in light of the ongoing social unrest and political and financial crisis. Moreover, they should have previous experience in ideation and content creation for campaigns involving advocacy and civil society. Candidates should understand the importance of workflow in the wider production process.

Furthermore, this person should have first class communication skills and team attitude as the work environment is team based rather than individual based. As such, displays an enthusiastic, calm, and flexible attitude, especially when facing challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Live coverage of events conducted by project sub-grantees (including photography and videography). Events include townhall meetings, advocacy campaigns, and workshops that will be implemented by project sub-grantees across different areas in Lebanon. The media team is required to attend ALL events and along with providing live coverage, they are expected to produce a short, edited video summarizing major highlights of the event.
• Production of weekly video content as requested by ARK relevant to project objectives which tackle the following specific campaign themes:

1. Accountability
2. Transparency
3. Civic Engagement
4. Political participation

• Videos duration will be dependent on topic and written script.
• Provision of vox pop videos with the public upon discussions and planning meetings with ARK. These videos will cover hot topics trending across the country. The media team is expected to engage with the civil society and gather views/thoughts on specific topics.
• The provision of photography services during events, campaigns, and project activities. In addition to, journalistic photography services which will be utilised to create engaging polls on the project media platform.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential

• Fluent in Lebanese Arabic (the candidate will be editing raw content coming from this region and need to understand spoken dialectal Arabic).

• 5+ years of proven experience in video production.
• Demonstrated creativity with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including Premier Pro CC, Final Cut, After Effects and Audition.
• Have prior experience implementing engaging advocacy media content working with CSOs and grassroots organizations.
• Have the flexibility to cover project activities across the various governorates of Lebanon.

Desirable

• Attain skills in producing infographic content.
• Have the ability to translate text within the produced videos.
