  • Main areas of responsibilities:

1. Work to provide essential medicines in the health center and to dispense them in the correct manner through:

  • Preparing drug orders using the correct scientific methods, and following up on orders.
  • Establish a clear system that shows how to store medicines and supervise their coordination and store/preserve them at an appropriate temperature and humidity in medicine cabinets that are tightly closed and with the correct scientific methods, and according to the expiration date. In the case of preservation in the refrigerator designated for medicines, this is recorded in a special register.
  • Refrain from providing medicines without a prescription.
  • Refrain from providing medicines in doses that exceed the doses prescribed by doctors.
  • Writing down or supervising the clear writing on the packaging of how to use the medicine, educating the patient on how to use the prescribed medicines, and making sure that the patient understands the written information.
  • Preparing a monthly report that includes statistics of the beneficiaries according to the type of medication, the percentage of medications prescribed by doctors, in addition to the self-evaluation of the workflow in the medication room, and the development suggestions and handing it over to the director of the center.
  • Sending monthly reports of the center's need for medicines provided by the Ministry of Health and supporting agencies.

2. Monitoring the prescription of medicines by doctors in the health center by reviewing:

  • Ensure the appropriateness of the medication prescribed by the diagnosis, and that it does not conflict with other medications that the patient is taking (Medication Reconciliation).
  • The completeness of the medical prescription data and the clarity of its contents before providing it to the patient.

3. Managing drug records in the pharmacy by ensuring:

  • The availability of medical prescriptions, custody records and forms for pharmacy activity.
  • The preservation and tabulation of the medical prescriptions that have been provided in the correct manner.
  • The completion and update of data in custody records and on the computer.
  • The classification and saving of the circulars related to the pharmacy's activity and the extent of compliance with them.

4. Maintaining a safe environment for oneself and others through:

  • Supervising the arrangement and cleanliness of the medicine room.
  • Preserving medicines in a correct and hygienic manner and making sure of the climatic conditions surrounding the medicine to maintain its effectiveness.
  • Good use of devices and equipment in the department (such as refrigerators) and ensure their maintenance and safety of use.

5. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of staff members in accordance with established and followed evaluation criteria.

6. Commitment to the internal system of the center, and adherence to work policies and procedures established within the center on a regular basis, in addition to:

  • Adhering to working hours in accordance with the center's policy.
  • Maintaining good behavior, effective positive communication, dealing positively with work pressure.
  • Ensure adherence to AICA policies and donor requirements

The above list is a non-exhaustive one, nor limitative, the phamracist could be asked to cover other responsibilities and tasks within the framework of his/her job on demand of the the line manager.

 

  • Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Background: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and permission to practice the profession of pharmacy from the Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon. at least 2 years of experience in the field of pharmacy.
  • Languages: Fluent in Arabic and English, Good in french
  • Personal qualities and soft skills: Good organizational skills, Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with all departments, Supervisory and leadership capabilities.
  • Computer skills: Good Command in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with electronic medical systems and Phenix.
