RFP Consultant Services Contract for Works- Design Works for Rehabilitation of Achrafieh Courts

As a part of “Sustainable Integrated Municipal Actions - SIMA”, and based on technical and social assessments, UNOPS selected the intervention rehabilitation of “Achrafieh Courts”. This intervention aims at enhancing accessibility to safe public spaces, as well as contributing to empowering youth through youth-led activities and programs, engaging the community more broadly and foster social cohesion, increasing the trust between residents and municipalities, and increasing resilience by providing a green and public outlet in the city for child friendly and women-friendly spaces, sports facilities and more.  

The municipality has provided a concept design they had previously approved for implementation. The concept design was prepared in July, 2019. Validation, adaptation, development and review of the design is required in order to ensure the compliance with UNOPS and international safety standards, as well as to ensure sustainability, a participatory design methodology, and that accessibility and gender sensitive solutions are applied in design. The detailed design shall incorporate design solutions for the current community’s needs as well as current municipal requirements. The design shall Include a PV solar system for the lighting and the operation of the courts.
