BACKGROUND: 

The Arab Resource Collective (ARC) is a non-governmental regional organisation. ARC’s mission is to work with partners on producing and disseminating knowledge, promoting policies, and developing human resources in order to translate rights into reality. ARC targets children and youth within their environment and focuses on health, education, and protection.

 HEPPP - Health, Early Learning, and Protection Parenting Program- is a guide developed by Arab Resource Collective, and is a tool that aims to empower the role of mothers and fathers in the care of their children based on principles of child ecology, positive child psychology, development, and child rights. It provides a framework of concepts, knowledge, and exercises that help develop parents' practices in their children's early learning while adopting an integrated, holistic approach to the child's early learning, care, health, development, and parental well-being.

 Tasks and responsibilities:

• Creating animations or whiteboard illustration drafts according to script from ARC and, if available, suggestions.
• Creating characters for the videos.
• Combine hand drawing with digital media to create creative and attractive visual material.
• Use various either Black & White or colours, graphics, and effects to visualise each concept.
• Stick to timelines and respect deadlines.
• Stay up-to-date with new design techniques and software.
• Maintain an aligned identity through all art.
• Communicate with ARC’s Audio-Visual Producer for  the shooting and production of each video.
• Provide sound effects suggestions.

 3. Communication requirements: 

• Respecting the language and ethics of  ARC in the creation of the designs.
• Communicating with the project coordinator and audio-visual producer.
• Participate in design briefs and brainstorming sessions with ARC’s Technical team.
• Schedule and attend regular and based on demand meetings with the team.
• Brainstorm with the team to come up with new ideas, patterns, and styles, or identities and    methods for videos.
• Incorporate  feedback from ARC’s technical team on the designs’ drafts.

4. Period of this contract:

Till December 2023, the position is consultancy based on demand with possibility of renewal based on funding and project needs.

5. Remuneration:

Payment will be by piece.

6. Illustrator skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor degree or equivalent in Design, Visual Arts, or relevant qualification
• Proven work experience as an Illustrator, Graphic Designer, or similar role
• Demonstrable portfolio of completed illustrations
• Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software is a plus
• Solid knowledge of image editing and digital sketching software, like Photoshop, Indesign, and Adobe Illustrator
• Drawing skills with an attention to detail (both by hand and digital pen)
• Strong aesthetic and conceptual skills
• Ability to collaborate and meet deadlines
