Background

USAID’s “Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” (QITABI -2) is a five-year program seeking to improve learning outcomes for all students in public primary schools in Lebanon. Its activity targets an estimated 200,000 girls and boys, including those who are registered in second shifts of public schools.

World Learning has an immediate vacancy for a consultancy position named “Graphic Designer” for the USAID- funded Quality Instruction Towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI -2) in Lebanon.

Scope and Responsibilities

The consultant will work closely with World Learning’s Beirut office Programs team as a “Graphic Designer” to deliver quality designs for various QITABI 2’s material and activities in line with USAID and World Learning requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

Under Reporting and Publications:

• Work in close coordination in close collaboration with the Director of Programs to design the layouts for educational guides and material, as well as publications and reports for QITABI-2 outcomes 1, 2, and 3 based on QITABI-2 guidelines.

Under Designs and artwork:

• Deliver creative and innovative ideas for print, electronic including design and layout of products
• Improve and edit artwork, photos, charts, and other graphic elements.
• Create different illustrative materials and design CD/DVD packaging for outcomes 1, 2 and 3
• Design/layout template for resource material, training handbooks, fact sheets, and external reports etc.
• Design/edit printing packages (all layout and design files, including pre-press for the printing house and web versions) for publications and other communication products, such as reports, brochures, handbooks, leaflets, charts, photographs, posters, and folders.

Other:

• Design any other product or template as required by QITABI 2 Project

Required Qualifications:

• Extensive Experience in the design and production of educational guides and material
• Portfolio demonstrating previous professional experience in the design and production of similar educational products and preferably in the similar field
• Ensure safeguarding requirements are applied and reflected in the solicitation and contract as applicable
• Creativity, artistic talent, and an eye for design
• Passion and a knack for storytelling
• Interpersonal communication skills with a willingness to accept feedback and constructive criticism
