Education Specialists/Curriculum Designer *2 -1 consultant for : English and Arabic & 1 consultant for : French

1. Background and Justification

Ana Aqra Association targets the educational, cultural and psychosocial needs of underprivileged children of Lebanese public schools and their communities.  Our Vision is to make learning accessible to all children. our main mission is to foster an equitable and sustainable learning environment for everyone. For this purpose, Ana Aqra is currently co-designing with Lebanese Alternative Learning innovative content to strengthen active learning among students based on a discovery approach. This collaboration is happening through a project entitled “My Best Start”.

The overall objectives of the project are:

1. Creation and Adaptation of digital content for vulnerable students

2. Development of Teachers Support Program

3. Development of Parents Support Guide

4. Deployment in ECE centers and capacity building of teachers and parents

5. M&E on the online and offline usage

2.Purpose/objective of the proposed consultancy

The curriculum designer will be responsible for reviewing digitized ECE lesson units, providing feedback, and developing/adjusting units of lessons, whenever needed, to answer amendments required. The consultant in charge of designing the lessons shall work in close coordination with the education department and the program team.

The main tasks to be completed by the consultant include but are not limited to:

• Review and provide feedback on 28 units of Arabic language lessons for the KG2 and KG3 grade levels.
• Review and provide feedback on 26 units of English language lessons for the KG2 and KG3 grade levels.
  • or Review and provide feedback on 26 units of lessons for the French languages for the KG2 and KG3 grade levels.
• Review and provide feedback on 20 Foundational Skills lesson units  . (English & Arabic SME consultant only)
• Amend the lessons as per Ana Aqra review and digitization requirements.
• Upload the lessons to LAL’s drive and update the tracking sheet.
• Continuously monitor LAL’s drive to check digitization progress and review digitized lessons.
• Review the Arabic and English lessons that LAL has digitized and provide feedback on the lessons that have been uploaded to the drive.
• Participate in project-related meetings.

3. Qualifications/specialized knowledge required

The consultant should ensure the following:

• A well-established specialty in Arabic and English Language, as well as Education.
• At least 10 years of relevant working experience in teaching and content development.
• Strong writing and conceptual skills, particularly in the design of content and curriculum.
• Extensive knowledge of the literature, resources, and networks related to teaching preschoolers.

4.  Time Frame

The contract begins on November 1^st 2022 and ends on May 30, 2023.

5. Outputs/Expected Deliverables and Time Frame

The consultant shall be responsible for the following deliverables.

1. Submitting feedback on digitized lessons and amending parts of the lessons as per the below preliminary timeframe:

 Review and upload all the revised lessons and comments to LAL’s drive
