Engineer

In coordination with COOPI Project Manager and COOPI Logistician:

COOPI is looking for a well-rounded engineer to support its mission statement and achieve the Expected Results of the project in North Lebanon (Tripoli - Akkar); The engineer shall meet below duties, requirements, and education to be eligible for interview.

Specific duties:

·         Designing the civil engineering works and rehabilitation interventions (Drawings, Technical Specification and Bill of Quantity) according to the assessed needs;

·        Creating Bill of Quantities accordingly and open tender for bidding.

·       Monitor tender process and meet with potential suppliers, discussing technicalities.

·         Monitor site activities and construction to assure quality and safety are met.

·        Collecting all the needed data and/or information related to the projects;

·        Performing detailed needs assessment, identifying beneficiaries and recommending appropriate interventions (e.g. rehabilitation works, water networks, supply and installation of water tanks; etc…) to improve their living conditions;

·        
Finalizing all the needed agreements among the concerned actors

·        Contacting and co-operating with relevant local authorities;

·        Ongoing strategic planning and development of the  project to be implemented in North Lebanon;

·        Cooperating with the technical officers of the local partner and the enrolled consultants during the needs assessment and technical design phases;

·        Procurement activities (including Technical Specifications and Bill of Quantities for supply and works contracts);

·        Performing timely supervision visits to all project sites under construction to ensure that works are done according to the design and mistakes are promptly corrected and a report made to COOPI Project Manager .

·        Establish an effective data collection system, to measure Project’s achievements towards targets on a regular basis

·        Manage information and reporting and assure proper storage of information and docs.

·        Strengthen project’s accountability mechanism;

 Other Duties :

·      Organisation and monitoring of some activities in the building sites, including detailed needs assessment;

·        Creating a database to locate the beneficiary households and the exact needs for the most vulnerable;

·        Checking of each material that have to be utilized for the implementation of the works before their installation in order to ensure the following up of the technical specifications of the works provided by COOPI and to strictly follow the COOPI Project Manager ;

·        Preparing weekly progress reports (e.g. measurements of the performed works);

Qualifications and skills:

·       Bachelor degree in civil engineering or architecture

·        Master of Civil Engineering preferred

·        Site work experience

·        Excellent skills in Excel, AutoCAD, AutoCAD3D

·        Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic languages, both oral and written

·        Valid Driving License and ability to drive 

·        Previous experience in working with national/international NGOs is an advantage
