Project summary:

Al Midan NGO in partnership with the Local Development Program for Urban Areas in North Lebanon (UDP-NL) has implemented a successful project called Sport Builds Generations in 2020-2022, that capacitated coaches to deliver trainings that taught social-emotional skills through football trainings, events, and tournaments.

The need for such initiatives proved a great success, but considering very few organizations considering these initiatives, the need is still valid and required to achieve advanced results.

Therefore, the aim of this current project: "Activation of Public Spaces and Strengthening of Organizations that Manage Them'' is to help bring several public sites in north Lebanon, that were and are still being rehabilitated and constructed by GIZ under the UDP-NL project to life through a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach with a focus on sustainability.

We aim to work closely with several organizations to develop and strengthen their capacities, which will include technical workshops (marketing and branding, facility management, etc) as well as close mentorship.

This position is for the Marketing and Branding component. The work will cover different organizations which are:

  • One community center in Zgharta
  • One community center in Chekka
  • One community-based organization (CBO) in Nahr El Joz-Mejdel
  • One sports club in the Al Manqoubeen area
  • The municipality of Tripoli unit handling 6 renovated public spaces in Tripoli

 

Overview:

Provide training for several organizations on marketing and branding throughout the project’s implementation period. The expert/trainer in marketing and branding will implement this training.

The training will include 2 major phases:

  1. The first phase will consist of at least 2 full-day training sessions or an equivalent of several half-day training (depending on the expert and availability of the participants). In this phase, the training includes all participants from different organizations. As well, the trainer will be introducing the concept of marketing and branding and give all the necessary general information related to this topic.
  2. The second phase will consist of weekly follow-up sessions or workshops where the trainer with the help, if needed, of the Al Midan team, specifically the marketing and design officer and the videographer will use the information given in the first phase and apply it in real life (for example: creating a logo, launching marketing campaign…). The trainer will work specifically with each organization in the second phase. At least 10 follow-up training sessions for each organization will be included to create a branding and marketing approach for each organization.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Identify the training needs of the participants and organizations through cooperation with Al Midan staff and individual meetings with participants and organizations.
  • Create in coordination with the Al Midan team an assessment form to see the gaps for the targeted organizations so it would be the basis for the training.
  • Prepare material for the workshop/training through an interactive, hands-on approach method.
  • Implement a 2-day workshop on the topic of marketing and branding.
  • Identifying key tasks and projects on the topic of marketing and branding that the organizations should work/focus on.
  • Set up a weekly schedule with all participants to have individual follow-up sessions (in person and/or online) to mentor, execute, and support them on the tasks and topics on marketing and branding that they are working on.
  • Write a training completion report detailing the outputs of the conducted training and an evaluation of the knowledge acquired by participants.
  • Helping and mentoring the participants in the online marketing strategy for the organization by planning and executing digital marketing campaigns.
  • Assist in outbound or inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various areas (content development and optimization, advertising, events planning, etc.).
  • Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, e-mail, TV, etc.).
  • Assist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic, etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies.
  • Undertake individual tasks of a marketing plan as assigned.
  • Coordinate with the Al Midan team on the materials, goods, and services required for the participants to implement their project, strengthen their organization, and work with Al Midan designers and videographers on designs and videos related to the organization’s work.
  • Regular meetings with Al Midan to update them on the progress and ensure the activities are falling in line with the project goals and timelines.
  • Coordinate with Al Midan staff on materials and goods needed to implement the workshop.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in marketing, communications, or equivalent, PhD is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a marketing specialist or similar role.
  • Diploma or certificate in Training of Trainers.
  • 2 years or more experience in delivering workshops on the topic of marketing and branding.
  • Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/social media etc.) and market research methods.
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing data analytics and tools.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite & CRM), and applications (Web analytics, Google AdWords, etc.).
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic web development tools (e.g., Dreamweaver) desired.
  • Desired experience certification in google, Instagram, Facebook, linked in, or any related field.
  • Experience in the execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Well-versed with the latest tools and industry standards.
  • Experience in working with WhatsApp for Business.
  • Ability to implement the training in the Arabic language.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a creative mind.
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently and proactively.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and roles, building successful relationships and partnerships at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
