Spotlight-SNHU Program Manager

Spotlight-SNHU Scholarship Program at the Lebanese Association for Scientific Research (LASeR) is looking for a strong and experienced Program Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the achievement of the program’s goals and dealing with all the program’s stakeholders to ensure that the whole strategy is well communicated and implemented. The Program Manager should be a highly skilled academic professional who is capable of ensuring the success and growth of the program.

About the Program

Spotlight-SNHU scholarship is a blended learning university scholarship program where students study onsite with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), a US based University, and pursue their bachelor’s degree while being in Lebanon. The aim is to provide access to higher education programs including Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees to refugees and vulnerable learners with a specialization in Business, Communication, and Health Care Management through LASeR.

Learning framework

1. Students work exclusively on projects to demonstrate their mastery of the required skills through CfA (college for America) platform.  Competency based education (CBE) is designed to develop workplace relevant knowledge and skills.

2. Rather than measuring learning by hours in the classroom, CBE measures learning by projects and assessments. Each degree program defines specific learning goals. Those goals are broken down into competencies.

3. Students complete projects for review by professional educators and subject matter experts. In addition to being provided with a full variety of educational resources, they can also make use of their existing knowledge and skills to demonstrate mastery of the required competency.

4. If the project shows that you have mastered the skill, you move on to the next requirement; if not, you can go back and resubmit your project as many times as it takes to master the skill.

Job Summary and Scope

The Program Manager provides clear and concise updates to upper management on program status, risk, issues and mitigation strategies. The Program Manager should be able to manage all the program’s components, and lead a team of a coordinator, academic advisor, as well as volunteers and interns. The program Manager should manage and operate the annual budget and maintain successful delivery through ongoing Monitoring and Evaluation. A successful Program Manager will have extensive knowledge about the institution and will maintain its standards in relation to quality, performance and satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

• Communicate the program’s progress regularly to all stakeholders and provide clear and concise updates to upper management on program status, risks, issues, and mitigation.
• Lead a team of a coordinator, academic advisor, as well as volunteers and interns.
• Draft the yearly plans and strategies.
• Manage and operate the annual budget.
• Support the outreach process.
• Monitor the program constantly and provide guidance when needed to ensure successful delivery
• Deliver high quality academic programs by recommending trainings based on students’ needs
• Provide individual career counseling to juniors and seniors to increase job placement rates near graduation.
• Maintain successful program delivery through ongoing Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
• Recruit new cohorts based on defined KPIs, including conducting interviews with candidates.
• Select and nominate eligible students for specific available internships.
• Connect and coordinate with the education departments of partner organizations.
• Advocate with the ministry of education and higher education.
• Ensure ongoing development, growth and expansion of the project.

• Excellent computer technology skills

• Previous experience in working with refugees

• Knowledgeable of institutional regulations, policies, offerings, and procedures

• A desire to help students in their academic journey, from enrollment to graduation 

Period of Employment: 1 year renewable based on funds and performance

Location: Tripoli at LASeR premises
