Full Time - Special Education (SE)

We are currently looking for full time Special Education (SE)  and Preschool Educator for children aged 3 to 5 (Preschool) and 3 to 10 (SE), with preferably a BA in Early Childhood Education and a MA in Special Education.

In addition to the special education class program, the educator will also be requested to teach Arabic in another KG class. All Tahaddi educators are requested  to organize summer activities in July.

Reports to: KG and Special Education Coordinator

Location: Tahaddi Education Center, behind the Sport City, Southern Beirut (Hay El Gharbeh, Ghobeiry Municipality)

Work type: Full-time: 8:00 AM- 3:30 PM (Monday-Friday)

Position skills:

Manage and educate groups of children aged 3 to 10 according to the TEC Internal Policies and Protection Chart, using exciting methods and creative materials to meet children’s varying needs and interests.

Plan and prepare in a creative way, submit plans on a weekly basis to the coordinator.

Observe, evaluate and report on learners’ performance.

Show high level of patience in dealing with special needs learners and demonstrate ability to manage misbehaviors in appropriate ways.

Maintain a safe and positive atmosphere between learners.

Prepare IEPs (Individualized Educational Programs) as required.

Work effectively and meet regularly with the education team and the coordinator as required

Meet regularly with parents

Show self-motivation, professionalism, enthusiasm and creativity.

Take part in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in in Special Education from an accredited university or a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a Master’s degree in Special Education.

Good knowledge of all the different developmental domains and willingness to work effectively on each of them (social - emotional development, linguistic expression, artistic skills, physical skills, and cognitive skills)

Good knowledge of the Lebanese Official Kindergarten Curriculum and ability to modify it according to the learners’ needs.

Readiness to involve parents as much as possible.

Willingness to work in an economically disadvantaged community and within basic facilities.

Excellent interpersonal skills, team spirit, sense of initiative, desire to learn, and flexibility.

Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment.

Adherence to Tahaddi’s core values of justice, integrity and compassion, and ability to respectfully work with children and adults.

Strong written and oral fluency skills in English and Arabic languages.

Computer proficiency with MS Office software package.
