Finance Officer

The Finance Officer is responsible of establishing and implementing specific finance systems and guidelines. 

He/ She carries out important functions related to projects, such as monitoring cash flow, overseeing budget, determining profitability, managing expenses, and producing accurate financial information.

He/ She is contributing mainly to financial planning, budget control and follow-up on the implementation of the projects’ plan.

He/ She should be able to ensure confidentiality of data and information related to projects and perform day to day financial tasks and reports.

He/ Should be able to coordinate with partners and donors.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

• Working with the Project Director to manage financial resources and follow up on the commitment to the project budget.
• Processing financial documents including contracts, expense reports, and invoices.
• Drafting contracts, budgets, and donor reports with direction from the Project Director.
• Conduct periodic financial analysis to detect and solve problems.
• Preparing monthly, and final financial reports.
• Liaising and communicating with office staff, providing logistical and administrative support.
• Assisting the project management team, in budgeting (budget forecast, budget realignment, etc.)
• Book-keeping for all financial and contractual documents, bills, and invoices.
• Preparing Payments for suppliers and payroll for all staff categories.
• Performing other related duties as required by the Project Director.
• Contribute to maintaining a good relationship and effective communication with donors, banks, and entities with which the financial department is in contact with.
• Working with the Finance Manager to follow up on the annual financial report.

Qualifications and Experiences:

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Corporate Finance, Business Management or related field
• 2-3 years’ work experience, preferably in the non-profit sector
• Excellent communication skills; ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills 
• Demonstrable experience of project financial reporting including to donors
• Professional knowledge of the methods of financial analysis and the methodology for the preparation of budgets
• Professional knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures
• Excellent reporting skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, time management and data entry management
• Fluency in English and Arabic both oral and written
