Project Synopsis & Objective

The purpose of Grand Challenges Canada is to support work that is called Yes to Emotions in Youth (YEY): An Emotional Intelligence Training for Vulnerable Youth in Lebanon. This project aims to achieve proof of concept for the Grantee’s innovation using funds contributed to Grand Challenges Canada from the Department of Health and Social Care, through the National Institute for Health Research (the “NIHR”), with support from Grand Challenges Canada (together the “Global Mental Health Partners”) for Grand Challenges Canada’s “Global Mental Health Program”, which aims to seed and transition to scale high impact innovations that improve treatments and/or expand access to care for people (especially youth) living with or at risk of mental disorders.

Scope of Required Services

The YEY Youth Facilitator works alongside the team of researchers, and especially the youth leaders to deliver the YEY program in public schools in Lebanon.

YEY youth facilitators will always ensure that the target youth is benefiting from the program. They will have a deep understanding of the material to deliver and are ready to face any challenges during the program. They effectively communicate with the youth leaders and research team any feedback and are always willing to learn from mistakes and keep moving forward in a constructive manner. They come to the training well-prepared and with a positive and empowering attitude.
