Background:

Operating since 2004 in Lebanon, DRC has addressed the needs and rights of vulnerable populations, working initially with Palestinian refugees (since 2004), Iraqi refugees (2007-2010), Lebanese IDPs (during the 2006 conflict), migrant domestic workers (since 2009) and, since 2011, responding to the Syrian refugee crisis.

Objectives & Technical Deliverables:

Lebanon is facing heavy electrical shortage due to its economic crisis that started end 2020 and continuous until the date. The economic crisis led to the inflation of prices and fuel shortage in the market that revealed a limited stock of fuel with generator companies (Alternate to governmental electricity), and the very limited availability of the governmental electricity.

Linked to that, and to proceed with DRC operations properly for our offices in Lebanon, different mitigation measures for alternate power sources were presented and one of them to be assess is the solar systems.

Based on that, the DRC is seeking to procure Solar Energy Systems to two of its offices in Lebanon as per the below minimum requirements:

Bekaa – Zahle office: Solar system (5.5 Kva) to cover up to 20 Amp load

North – Halba office: Solar system (7 Kva) to cover up to 30 Amp load
