Trainer of Trainers for Face Masks sewing VT course:

Summary: This call aims to recruit a Trainer who will be in charge of training skilled sewing professionals. The ToT will be carried out during 2 days’ workshops gathering 15 proficient sewers, in order to enable them to provide and deliver efficient & organized training in their turn for beneficiaries from community. The first day shall focus on an interactive session to finalize and standardize the curricula & Mask design specs, while the 2^nd shall revolve around training delivery method and how to convey the message

Objectives of the beneficiaries training:

 The beneficiaries will receive 7 days training delivered by ToT participants and shall acquire the below:

1. To learn basic principles of sewing
2. To learn how to use sewing machines
3. To learn how to read designs/patterns
4. To learn how to apply designs to make Textile Face Masks

The Curricula breakdown:

1. Course overview and description
2. Introduction to sewing machines and tools
3. Basic stiches
4. Basic techniques including but not limited to: درزة، حبكة
5. Mask sewing exercise including different steps
6. Packaging techniques in factories including ironing and disinfection
7. Learning to read patterns

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Develop the curriculum and benchmark it with participants (skilled sewers /factories owners)
• Conduct 6 to 8 hours of training in Tripoli AICA premises (2 consecutive days)
• Agree on the final Mask design and specs
• Hand over a final version of the curriculum in English and Arabic
• Prepare a list of needed materials to be used in the training
• Provide a report in regard the delivered ToT
• Any other duty that might be necessary and related to the scope of work

Required competencies:

• At least 3 years of experience in working in the sewing industry in Lebanon
• Relevant trainings/certifications within the sewing sector
• Previous record in conducting trainings desired
• Patience and positive attitude is highly requested
• Ability to provide explanation to trainees when necessary
• Excellent command of written and oral Arabic (English is a plus)
• Strong communication skills
• Good presentation skills
• Good reporting skills
