Full-time 23 hours/week for 12 weeks (180 hours total)

This is a great opportunity to strengthen the capacity of people in need and improve your own skills through professional development.
The curriculum includes computer and internet literacy, Office tools, and programming in Python. The instructor must be skilled in the curriculum content and able to engage students with varying levels of prior education effectively and interactively in learning the material. The curriculum content and presentation slides are provided by AUB.
2. DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively teaching the curriculum to the class of up to12- 25 students ages 18-35 with an interactive student-centered approach
- Reviewing the curriculum and updating it as per needs of the training
- Preparing and supervising practice work and projects to be solved by the students during class
- Tracking attendance
- Preparing and grading assignments
- Giving feedback and communicating effectively with students at all levels of technological understanding
- Coordinating with other instructors and the curriculum supervisor
- Reporting as requested (weekly and end-of-cycle reports)
3. EXPERIENCE & DESIRED SKILLS
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 1-3 years of teaching experience.
- Comfortably capable of teaching in both Arabic and English.
- Knowledge and ability to teach the curriculum content, including: advanced computer skills, internet literacy, Microsoft Office (advanced excel), online learning, and Web Development.
- Demonstrating acute professionalism in dealing with others, as well as students of different backgrounds.
- Leading by example in terms of attitude and behavior (respect for others, being on time, highest standards of excellence, going the extra mile) to prepare the students for the real work world in hard and soft skills.
Background: The Digital Skills Training Program is an innovative vocational training program that gives disadvantaged youth the opportunity to learn transferable skills relevant to the growing international Digital Economy. The program, managed by AUB-CCECS, is in collaboration with “Kayani” in Shtoura and “Ruwwad al Tanmiyah” in Tripoli. The program is supported by the World Food Programme. It provides basic and advanced Digital Skills and English classes for disadvantaged Lebanese youth. Local instructors deliver the training under the supervision of the AUB faculty.
