Purpose of the Position:    

Under the overall supervision and guidance of the Project Manager, the intern will provide support to the program team in various projects by assisting in administrative, technical and financial aspects of the project to ensure it meets the quality requirements, delivers on time and that organizational learning is captured.

It is expected this position will be working most closely with the Preventing Violent Extremis project.

The intern must be available to work 25-30 hours per week, and must commit to 6 months.

Scope of Position:

Reports to: Project Manager

Direct Reports: None

Working relationships: Works closely with Project Manager and colleagues from other projects and departments (Finance, Supply Chain and Procurement)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure compliance with Search internal administrative, technical and financial reporting standards, procedures and requirements
  • Collaborate with project team throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that project runs on time and budget
  • Provide active role and use critical judgment in the development of all project deliverables
  • Plan meetings, trainings and workshops, and assist in relevant invitations and logistical preparations
  • Contribute to quality and timely submission of all project deliverables and documentation as assigned by the Project Manager
  • Undertake field visits and attend meetings with partner and other relevant stakeholders when needed and as assigned by the Project Manager
  • Maintain and regularly update Project folder in Google Drive
  • Effectively communicate with the Project Manager for any issues related to the project

Skills & Competencies:

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BA (completed or in progress) in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Political Sciences, International Relations, Conflict Resolution, Peacebuilding, or any relevant field of study or equivalent experience;
  • Commitment to peacebuilding, human rights, gender equality and non-discrimination;

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience in working with civil society organizations, charity and/or project management is a plus. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, and willing to take on tasks small and large

Internship Details:

  • Contract Duration: 6 months
  • Internship Allowances: $ 250
  •  Working hours: 25-30 hours per week
  • Intern to be resident in Lebanon
