MMU Nurse

MMU- Tripoli Zgharta is a three-year project implemented by the CWB. It aims to increase access to primary and secondary health care services for the vulnerable Lebanese and Syrian refugees in Tripoli and the districts of Zgharta and Danniyeh. The project will operate one MMU offering medical inspections, free of charge medicines, referrals to healthcare centers, and psychosocial support. The unit will operate in 10 different locations in the targeted region over a specific routing plan. The latter takes into consideration the intensity of needs as well as other stakeholder services to avoid overlapping and increase coverage.

Under this project,CWB is seeking to recruit a Registered Nurse having an extensive experience in Nursing to assist in the supply of MMU medical services and ensure proper health measures are applied. He/she directly coordinates with the Hub Assistant, MMU Coordinator, and reports to the Principal Physician.

Objectives

The objective of the Nurse position is to coordinate the supply of medical services in the MMU and ensure proper live data entry for patients served.  The nurse shall coordinate daily supply of medicine with the Hub assistant to make sure health stock is properly managed.

Scope of Work

The Nurse will be primarily responsible of the following activities:

• To admit patients to the physicians of the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU)
• To fill the patient’s medical history, allergies, vital signs, physician diagnosis and exams 
• To provide the patients with the medical drugs according to the physician’s prescription
• To report any lack of medical drugs 
• To ensure the COVID-19 safety measures
• To prepare the patients before examination (blood pressure, glucose test….)
• To ensure that medical equipment is properly operated and maintained and ensure supply needs for the MMU operations
• To prepare in coordination with the hub assistant the visit of the next day by replenishing the medical drugs’ stock.
• To relocate or face a longer commute when required

Essential Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in nursing
• Proven work experience as a nurse in humanitarian projects
• An ability to develop and interpret schedules, flowcharts and action plans
• Strong organizational skills, including time-management and multitasking
• Knowledge and exposure to the social and cultural values of the region
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of Arabic and English languages

Main Deliverables/Expected achievements:

• Daily medicine stock management
• Proper handling of medical service with the principal physician
• Proper communication with patients

Period

• 12 months with possible extension (Aug 2020-Aug 2021)
