ECODIT LLC is a US-based international development firm working with governments, businesses, and local communities to advance environmentally- and socially- responsible development around the world. We provide technical assistance services ranging from quick-turnaround assessments and evaluations to design and implementation of long-term multi-million-dollar projects. Since its founding in 1993, ECODIT has provided professional services through more than 250 projects/contracts to diverse clients in more 50+ countries. Building on our track record of success, we have continuously expanded the depth and breadth of our expertise in the water, energy, environment, and urban and local governance sectors.

 

ECODIT is seeking expressions of interest from highly motivated experts for an anticipated Lebanon Solid Waste Management (SWM) Project. This is a five-year donor-funded project expected to begin this summer and will work with Lebanese municipalities to plan and implement sustainable SWM solutions. 

ECODIT seeks highly qualified local candidates for the following illustrative long-term and short-term positions anticipated for this project. Foreign nationals residing in Lebanon are also encouraged to apply for the Chief of Party/Team Leader position. Candidates ideally will have extensive experience working on SWM projects funded by bilateral donor agencies (e.g., USAID, EU, DFID, GIZ, SIDA) and multilateral development agencies (e.g. UN, IADB, World Bank), including in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.  

  • Chief of Party/Team Leader
  • SWM/Recycling Specialist
  • Local Development/Community Engagement Specialist
  • Municipal Capacity Development Specialist
  • Private Sector Engagement/Public Private Partnerships Specialist
  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Specialist
  • Communications/Behavior Change Communications Specialist
  • Finance and Administrative Manager
  • Procurement and Grants Manager
  • Operations and Logistics Coordinator

 

Candidates for the above positions should have the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) and at least five (5) years of relevant work experience leading or supporting large, complex government/donor funded projects. Advanced academic degrees in relevant fields are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge in at least one of the following areas: SWM, service delivery, local governance, rural development, private sector engagement, MEL, communications, capacity building, and gender and social inclusion, among others. Experience in more than one of these areas is highly desirable.   
  • Strong management and supervisory skills (especially for the Chief of Party/Team Leader position)
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a large team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Residency in Lebanon
  • Fluency (written and verbal) in English and Arabic is required; fluency in French is desired.
