Mousharaka - Sharing your resources to support people in Lebanon during the Corona crisis

In light of the current COVID-19 crisis, many people in Lebanon have lost their job or don't get paid temporarily. Especially those in already precarious job situations are hit by the "home office", "online meetings" and "stay at home" doctrines. In Lebanon, the state has hardly taken any measures to support these people, especially non-Lebanese people (refugees, migrant workers) residing in Lebanon do not get any support. This is a personal initiative of a group of people to support currently unemployed migrant workers, refugees and Lebanese families in need. These people need urgent food, cleaning material (soap, sanitizers, mask etc), support for rent and medication. In these upcoming weeks and months (depending on how long the crisis continues), we want to support these people with whatever needs they have. We strongly feel that one current lesson from this crisis is that we need to share with each other: share our resources, knowledge, our money and our compassion.
In the last two months, we have been distributing food parcels, medications and supported people with cash for their rent or for doctors' and hospital appointments.
Until May 14th, we have raised money to support 1054 people with 241 food parcels. We also supported 11 people with medication and four families with support for rent. Moreover, we covered the hospital stay of a woman in urgent need of medical care. Every penny donated goes to our relief efforts. Mousharaka is a project based on the dedication of volunteers who believe that it is inevitable in these times to support each other and share what we have.
