Caritas Lebanon invites qualified suppliers to make a firm proposal for the establishment of a Frame Agreement for the provision of “Child Protection Training Consultancy”

 

Background

Caritas Lebanon (CL) has set children rights as one of its priority intervention area. It strives to advocate for their rights, to protect them, to meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential. Caritas Lebanon fulfils its fundamental duty of care towards children and acknowledges its responsibilities to keep children safe while engaged in its programs and activities.

CL is committed to protect children from all forms of abuse (including physical, sexual, emotional, neglect), discrimination, exploitation, and manipulation.

CL is committed to ensure that its staff and volunteers be provided with guidance, common understanding of child safeguarding issues as well as training in good practices and child safeguarding policies.

 

CONSULTANCY Purpose

CL is committed to foster and maintain a safe and trusted environment which prevents harm and promotes the well-being and safety of all people it comes into contact with - internally and externally.  To this end, CL has initiated a process to develop safeguarding and ethics and integrity related policies, and strengthen awareness and competence in safeguarding and integrity across the organization.

With a view to strengthening the overall child safeguarding at CL, staff and volunteers who work in contact with children will receive mandatory targeted child safeguarding sessions to equip them with the basic knowledge, skills and qualifications on how to detect, identify and respond to child protection suspicions, concerns, or allegations.

To support this, CL wishes to solicit the services of a Child Safeguarding Consultant to develop and deliver ToT training and capacity building sessions on the effective prevention of and response to child abuse and neglect, referral systems (detection and reporting) and national/judicial laws for CL staff and volunteers.

 

Deliverables

The consultant will be expected to deliver the following outputs:

  • Overall training plan
  • Detailed training agenda
  • Inception meetings with the relevant staff to identify training gaps and guidance needs for child protection matters
  • Delivery of the training sessions

 

METHODOLOGY

The consultant will develop his/her own methodology appropriate to the training topic and the needs assessment. The methodology will be adapted and contextualised to the targeted audience.

 

 

DURATION OF CONSULTANCY

 

  • The Duration will be approximately 5-10 days.
  • The Consultant will develop a work plan for implementation based on his/her proposal and submit with the expression of interest.
  • The training/workshop sessions could be adapted to run for a half day or one full day based on the needs.  

Key Qualifications

 

Applicants with the following experience are welcome to apply:

 

  • At least 5 years of professional experience on issues of child safeguarding and child rights
  • At least 5 years of documented experience in developing, facilitating/delivering interactive/participatory training sessions in the area of child abuse protection, documented experience in conducting trainings.
  • Knowledge of CL and relevant actors in the Child protection field.
  • Excellent skills in presenting complex information in an easily comprehensible way.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in working within complex and dynamic environment.

   including but not limited to the following:

• CV of the consultant demonstrating previous experience in similar assignments.

• Description of the Training contents, delivery methodology, and tentative timeframe.

• A financial proposal with an estimated breakdown of costs for the consultancy.
