MMU Social Worker

The objective of Social Worker position within the Medical Mobile Unit (MMU) project is to provide guidance to MMU patients, establish communication networks, raise social topics, development of health education materials, deliver training, work closely with field coordinator, conduct regular focus group discussion, and elaborate reports. He/she should develop an in-depth knowledge of the projects’ activities and processes and be a key point of contact for other project staff members on logistics matters.

Scope of work

The Social worker will be primarily responsible for the following activities:

• Offer sociomedical advice and guidance to the Mobile Medical Unit’s patients
• Establish a good communication network with the different actors in the area of intervention to facilitate implementation of health education sessions
• Coordinate with the Mobile Medical Unit team and the PHC center to suggest topics to be raised
• Establish a feedback and complaints system for the beneficiaries into the Project
• Support in the development of Health education material when needed
• Delivery of training sessions
• Work in close coordination with the field coordinator to ensure timely implementation of activities planned for the Project
• Conduct regular focus group discussions, awareness sessions and questionnaires to evaluate medical activities
• Evaluate referral cases for needy patients to the hospital-based on fixed criteria
• Elaborate narrative and statistics report on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to the management.

Essential Minimum Qualification

• Bs in social studies or relevant field
• At least 5 years of proven similar experience or relevant field
• Strong organizational skills, including time-management and multitasking
• Knowledge and exposure to the social and cultural values of the region
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Excellent knowledge in Arabic and English
