Project: “REFORM: Towards a strengthened quality response and inclusive and dignified durable solution for GBV survivors in Lebanon” Project
Duration: 84 days
Location: Beirut
Type of consultancy: Consultant with Knowledge and experience in psychosocial and GBV
About the project
ABAAD, through this project, intends to strengthen national systems capacities to enhance protection and mitigation of gender-based violence (GBV) against women and girls in Lebanon among Syrian refugees and vulnerable host communities, and to contribute to supporting vulnerable groups in displacement situations to be capacitated and empowered to move out of dependency on aid and choose a durable solution, as appropriate. This project will also ensure opportunities for development, prevention, safety, and protection for women and girl survivors and at-risk of GBV in Lebanon through addressing and enhancing their abilities to cope with adversity, mitigate and deconstruct conflict in their direct environments and communities, and tackle the legislative frameworks and policies that affect them directly.
This activity is a continuation of the development of the National GBV Case Management curriculum and two national ToT workshops that were completed in 2018 when Ministry of Social Affairs Social Workers/trainers were trained. ABAAD proposes now to conduct 6 additional ToT workshops on the use of the GBV Case Management manual and the national GBV SOPs. The participants will include case managers working with the MOSA social development centres in addition to local, international, and national organizations in Lebanon (approximately 150) and will aim at building the capacities of the aforementioned personnel on GBV Case management in emergency settings. The rationale of this activity stems from the results of experiences in the field that have so far shown that community social workers, care providers and case managers do not have holistic, hands-on, and solid knowledge and experience in case management. This activity will aim at standardizing case management system in the response programs using ABAAD GBV CM toolkit produced. The training will be based on the toolkit in addition to the instructional video on GBV case management (also previously produced by ABAAD) will be also used as a training tool during these workshops. The trainings will focus on the do(s) and don’t(s) of working with survivors and are designed to build local actors capacities in various steps of case management. The trained social workers will be capacitated to further train 300 frontliners and social workers in their respective organizations through on-the-job coaching.
