Background:

Development for People and Nature Association (DPNA) is a nongovernmental, secular association that works through a wide range of networks of civil society organizations (CSOs) to meet the needs of the local community on the basis of sustainable development. DPNA was established in 2003 and now has 32 full- and part-time staff members as well as 500 volunteers supporting DPNA to accomplish its vision and mission.
Vision: A non-violent democratic society where individuals enjoy all their rights and freedoms without discrimination.
Mission: To empower, mobilize, and enable citizens to change and meet the needs of the communities, as individuals and/or groups, specifically the marginalized communities in rural, bordered, and poverty areas, through human rights based approach.

Generations for Peace (GFP) is a leading global non-profit peace-building organization with its headquarters in Amman, Jordan.

We are dedicated to sustainable conflict transformation at the grass roots in communities, by promoting youth leadership, community empowerment, active tolerance, and responsible citizenship.  We are a volunteer movement, empowering, mentoring and supporting volunteers to be change-makers to create a better future in their own communities.

Youth RESOLVE: Resilience, Education, Social Cohesion, Opportunities for Livelihoods and reduced Violence in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Iraq (Madad)

The programme objective in Lebanon is to mobilize and train youth to facilitate peace-building activities, and to implement initiatives that benefit their local communities, to improve relations between host and refugee communities in the targeted areas.

Specific programme objectives:

  • Mobilize and train youth to implement initiatives that benefit their local communities with a focus on promoting peace-building and positive interaction within their community in Lebanon: The purpose of this activity is to build the capacity of youth living across North Lebanon, and Mt. Lebanon and South Lebanon to promote peace and positive interactions, and engage in projects beneficial for the entire community.
  • Facilitate peace-building activities to improve relations between host and refuge communities in targeted areas

The services are requested to achieve the following objectives:

  • To work with 120 youth together over four months (form of art plays);
  • To develop final products depicting community social cohesion stories in the form of play;
  • All art products developed by these groups will be jointly showcased at five community events per year (three in South Lebanon, one in North Lebanon, one in
    Mount Lebanon);
  • The participants will also work together with professional artists to plan and promote a large “closing ceremony” event to showcase the youth’s artwork and to share their stories;

Therefore, Generations for Peace (GFP) in partnership with Development for People and Nature Association (DPNA) needs:

  • Drawing trainer (Cartoonist)

Duties and responsibilities of each trainer:

    • Prepare session plan for the related topic (Camp and seven sessions)
    • Deliver a six-day training on June 2019 to 120 youth on how to design and produce a final product (comic book)
    • Work closely with a total of 35 youth for seven sessions over three months, to develop final product and to prepare for the community events and final event
    • Support youth in planning and promoting community events and the final event.
    • Support youth during the community events and final event
    • All art products need to advocate for social cohesion between Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian youth
    • Submit the required reports after each session, As well as, a final report at the end of the programme

  • Flexibility in timing is essential (working on weekends);
