About The Knowledge Workshop:

The Knowledge Workshop (KW) is an ongoing workshop for (re)searching and gathering women’s stories, for creating and sharing feminist resources through engaging women and their struggles within their communities in Lebanon. We at the KW team have merged all our past experiences in collective grassroots organizing and working within more institutionalized forms of activism, in activist writing and in scholarly research, and our experiences working in different artistic and media projects, in order to create this feminist workshop. The Knowledge Workshop was officially born in 2015 and launched in 2016 in order to undertake the necessary work of integrating community organizing with researching, storytelling, teaching and learning. KW has three primary tracks: the Feminist Library, the Storytellers Project, and the Feminist School.

About the position:

The KW is looking for a full-time logistics and admin officer to help with planning, organizing ongoing and upcoming projects and to give general administrative and logistical support to afore-mentioned projects.

Starting date: Immediately

Responsibilities:

-Ability to draft and control budgets.

- Plan, follow up and execute all tasks related to hotel reservations, and travel arrangement that includes but not limited to quotation based purchasing, ensuring procurement and anti-corruption criteria in the process, communication with venues, participants and partners.

-Ability to manage team members carrying on logistics tasks remotely.

- Weekly reporting on operations status.

- Execute financial operations with guidance from team and finance manager

-Facilitate visa processes.

-Follow up and ensure clear communication with participants, partners and team members.

-Handling procurement process.

-Handling the office petty cash for internal transactions.

-Act as the go-to reference and chief problem solver for all practical matters during the events.

- Reports to officer and coordinator.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have Previous experience in coordinating and planning events and meetings for non profit or corporate. i.e conferences and workshops.
  • Have Previous experience in handling logistical matters.
  • Have Ability to work under stress and TIGHT deadlines.
  • Have Strong working knowledge of office suite, especially in Excel.
  • Have Strong communication skills, including strong abilities in working with people remotely, communicate in clear languages and with clear messages,  ability to work under stress, is able to manage work with team members being in a different time zone, takes initiatives, ability to multi-task. Energetic and willing to travel for work frequently.
  • Not be prejudiced against any group of people and adheres to feminist values and principles. Meaning that they cannot be homophobic, transphobic, racist or have any sort of prejudice and negative assumptions.
  • Strong knowledge of booking tickets, hotels and transportation.
  • Willing to learn and grow.
