1. INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES:

This call for Applications is launched within the context of RESTART CENTER’s Project: “BRIDGES FOR LIFE - Building the capacities of Syrian Health and Mental Health professionals to address the needs of Torture Survivor” funded by Development and Peace – Caritas Canada.

The Project aims at improving the knowledge, understanding and practice of Syrian health and mental health professionals to address the needs of torture survivors within the larger Syrian refugee community

Project’s context:

Through this project, Islamic Relief will Launch a medical campaign  from volunteering doctors from Canada who will visit 2 areas in Lebanon to provide primary health care assistance and some ophthalmic surgery’s ( cataract ), then IRL  will follow up in secondary health care assistance. The project beneficiaries will be from the Syrian refugees, Palestinian refugees, and from the Lebanese host community. In addition to that, the medical delegation will share experiences and update the medical center’s teams of the latest international medical trends in diagnosis and treatment of various specialties and these needs will be identified through a pre-need assessment. This project aims to focus on the importance of healthcare, (Primary and Secondary health care), capacity building for medical centers, training for local doctors and support one PHC and one hospital with medical equipment and medical disposables as an emergency response to the huge need of medical services.

The Norwegian Red Cross is in process of collecting offers for Medicines and Medical Supplies.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society in Lebanon announces its intention to buy eleven
thousand four-hundred twenty (11420) first aid kits. The purchase is conducted as part of
the EUTF Madad funded Red Cross and Red Crescent program Addressing Vulnerabilities
of Refugees and Host Communities in Five Countries Affected by the Syria Crisis. The
kits are purchased to be provided to vulnerable community members in Palestinian refugee
camps all over Lebanon.
