Wahat Al Farah Association is looking for Chef for Strengthening and Empowering Persons with disabilities and vulnerable groups through CFW project.

This project is part of the project "Support for Disadvantaged, Peripheral Neighbourhoods in Lebanon through Cash for Work (C4WL)” that is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). C4WL is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in partnership with the Ministry of Social Affairs and in cooperation with Wahat Al-Farah Association

Position: Chef

Location: Bkeftine Al Koura

Organization: Wahat Al Farah Association

Duration: 9 month

Objective: The Chef will be responsible for managing the kitchen operations of [NGO Name], ensuring the efficient preparation and delivery of 300 nutritious hot meals daily, including salads and desserts. The Chef will play a crucial role in catering to the nutritional needs of the target population, with a particular emphasis on individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Menu Planning:
   • Develop diverse and nutritious menus suitable for the target population, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences.
   • Ensure that the meals align with health standards and guidelines.
2. Kitchen Management:
   • Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and storage.
   • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
3. Quantity Production:
   • Demonstrate the ability to prepare and deliver 300 hot meals daily, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
   • Efficiently manage resources to minimize waste and control costs.
4. NGO Experience:
   • Showcase a strong background in working with NGOs, understanding their specific operational dynamics and goals.
   • Collaborate with other departments to align kitchen activities with the overall objectives of the organization.
5. Experience with People with Disabilities:
   • Demonstrate a compassionate and inclusive approach to cooking, considering the needs and preferences of individuals with disabilities.
   • Implement best practices to ensure an accessible and accommodating dining experience.
6. Team Leadership:
   • Lead and motivate kitchen staff to maintain a positive and efficient working environment.
   • Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Chef, preferably with a background in NGO settings.
• Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements, especially for people with disabilities.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
