PCPM is seeking a Civil Engineer Consultant to oversee an agricultural terraces rehabilitation project in Fatre, Byblos. The selected person will have the responsibility to survey the plots, decide the slope, reinforcements, load distribution, and wall, as well as to prepare a technical survey report accordingly. In addition, he/she will have to provide a BoQ, supervise the contractor’s work, and draft a completion report, while ensuring that the project objectives are met and that the activities are implemented in compliance with PCPM and donor regulations. 

This is a contract position, anticipated to run from now until April 30, 2019.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare a technical survey related to the rehabilitation of agricultural terraces (slope of the agricultural wall to be re-constructed, wall reinforcement needed, load distribution on the wall, dimension of the wall…)   
• Meet the site owners during the field visit to conduct the survey
• Calculate the area of the agricultural wall that needs to be re-constructed in each site
• Submit a brief report for each site (results of the survey)
• Inspect the installation of the wall terraces, at specified times, to ensure that the required standards are being adhered to by the contractor
• Submit a completion report

Qualifications:

• National Position (only Lebanese citizens are eligible to apply)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Good reporting and communication skills
• Good attention to detail
