Artworks & Landmarks International Seminar

International SeminarApril – September 2012 CRA'P seminars 2012
ARTWORKS & LANDMARKSContemporary Arts Practice & ContextsThe Seminar artworks & landmarks intends to approach the cross-disciplinary / inter-media practices of contemporary artworks, with the intention to breakdown boundaries and to emphasize and interrogate its cultural rather than its disciplinary contexts.
Artworks & Landmarks are the two main subjects that inform and frame the activities, discourse and development of the Seminar.
The overall objective of this seminar is to question and expand the notion of contemporary art practice related to different contexts in different locations across the Mediterranean area. The program consists of a series of displacements to different locations with different durations – Barcelona, Marseilles, Palermo, Rome and Beirut.
The Seminar also intends to provide a critical framework for contemporary practice that is concerned more with ideas of process, mobility, flow and transmission, than with form, object, materials, and techniques. Therefore its program seeks to provide an understanding that can reflect, position, or map the shifting role of artwork in contemporary culture.
