The Union for the Protection of Juveniles in Lebanon (UPEL) has been mandated by the government to play the main role in providing protection services to minors (juveniles) in Lebanon as per Law 422/2002 for children of all nationalities on Lebanese soil. UPEL is responsible to advocate for the child’s best interest when they come in contact with judicial services (both protection cases and children in conflict with the law). UPEL is mandated to ensure that children receive appropriate services and that there is no further abuse committed towards them.

UPEL is looking for 1 dedicated and motivated Child Protection Caseworker to conduct all steps of the judicial case management process for high/medium risk cases of children vulnerable to violence, neglect, abuse (physical, sexual and emotional) and exploitation, and children in conflict with the law. Case worker will be responsible for upholding high professional standards with children, families and external agencies. Case workers are directly accountable for the timely management and response to urgent cases.

UPEL is looking for dedicated and motivated Child Protection Case Management Managers who will be responsible for the daily oversight and implementation of UPEL services for vulnerable children in their relevant region, upholding the highest standards of conduct and staff management.

REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Child Protection Project Coordinator

POSITION DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: Child Protection Caseworkers

The Child Protection Project Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the overall implementation of UPEL services for children in need of judicial protection and in conflict with the law across Lebanon. S/he supervises 5 case managers, who in turn supervise caseworkers in each UPEL office. The Child Protection Project Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight of quality service provision and ensure that the best interests of the child are advocated for at a national and field level.

The Operations Manager will play a vital role at UPEL overseeing the correct implementation of the programs, the appropriate compliance with donor requirements including donor reporting, and is responsible for developing and implementing a fundraising strategy.

REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Board Director / UPEL President

POSITION DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: HR Officer, Finance Officer, Child Protection Project Coordinator

The Human Resources Officer is responsible for finalizing and implementing developed personnel policies and employment practices within the organization. S/he should be able to provide a professional advisory service in relation to a broad range of human resource matters.
