Field Assistant

Solidar Switzerland is a non-governmental organization (NGO) whose purpose is to assist disadvantaged, persecuted and oppressed people in Switzerland and worldwide. Solidar Switzerland has been actively responding to the Syrian Crisis since 2012, assisting displaced Syrian and vulnerable Lebanese families with humanitarian assistance.
 
Having its main office in Habboush / Nabatieh district, Solidar Switzerland is seeking for an experienced and highly motivated:
 
Field Assistant
 
The Field Assistant will conduct assessments, evaluation and monitoring for program departments under the supervision of the Manager. Currently, Solidar Switzerland has three program departments: The MEAL Department Community Support Projects (CSP) Department, the Unconditional Cash Assistance and Emergency Cash (UCA & EC) Department. The MEAL Department has a Case Management Unit and a Database Unit. The Case Management Unit is responsible of managing and communicating with current and potential beneficiaries. The Database Unit will manage the data of all beneficiaries and will conduct assessment and monitoring of all projects.
 
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision, and collaboration of the Manager

Organize and conduct quality data collection from the field (surveys, baseline, post distribution monitoring, exit notice and focus group discussions).
Perform the data entry from all data collected into a software.
Organize, collect, compile and document all the data collected to archive them in soft and hard copies as per the guidelines.
Lead all administrative issues for the department.
Develop under the supervision of the manager a work plan for data collection, monitoring, reporting, to ensure planned activities are implemented on time and effectively.
Attend trainings on methodology, approach, data collection tools, and measures to protect beneficiaries.
Identify and report individuals with special needs, protection concerns, and any problems with Solidar Switzerland services.
Keep regular contacts with local authorities and implementing partners as requested by supervisor.
Supervise, coordinate and guide the Enumerators work.
To do any other related tasks as requested by the Manager.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Requirements:

1 years of work experience in a similar position (conduct assessments).
2 years of work experience with NGO.
Secondary school or technician training school.
Proven experience in assessments and data collection.
Capacity to follow and implement decision.
Organized and structured approach.
Good communication skills and ability to well integrate a multi-cultural team.

Good spoken and written in Arabic.
Good spoken and basic written in English.
Basic user skill in Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Excel).

 
We offer a 3 months fixed term contract in a dynamic and international working environment. Remuneration is 1,093 USD per month according to the Solidar Switzerland salary scale in Lebanon.
