About the Project
The Sustainable Fodder Production for Livestock Resilience in Akkar project, funded by the UN World Food Program and implemented by Relief International (RI), aims to enhance the resilience and livelihoods of small-scale livestock farmers in Akkar, North Lebanon. The project focuses on improving fodder production through land reclamation, developing irrigation infrastructure, and introducing high-nutritious animal feed and climate-resilient fodder crops. It also promotes gender equity and economic inclusion.

Relief International will start implementing a project that aims to address one of the key challenges faced the livestock farmers: access to nutritious fodder. RI will support women to cultivate the reclaimed land and support the adaptation of sustainable cost efficiency methods of fodder production.

The Full-time Referral Nurse will be responsible for conducting health referral activities to the health facilities and meet the unique needs of each beneficiary in the targeted areas.

The Education Center Officer will play a crucial role in the effective operation and management of the Education Center (EC). ECO will be responsible for managing RI’s EC and supervising the implementation of the Homework Support Groups (HSGs) sessions, and the summer remedial activities daily targeting children enrolled in RI’s CFT program in Akkar. Additionally, the ECO will supervise and coach RI’s Teachers daily. The ECO will also conduct household visits to follow up with parents and children at risk of dropping out of school and conduct the validation exercise in his/her area of work.

Under the supervision of the Livelihoods Program Manager and Livelihoods Program Coordinator, the Agricultural Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of efficient irrigation systems and water storage solutions tailored to the specific needs of crops, soil, and climatic conditions. A core focus of this role is the rehabilitation and establishment of lined ponds, alongside designing integrated irrigation networks to promote sustainable agricultural practices. The position requires extensive fieldwork and movement in the North area.

This position is responsible for managing Relief International's security operations in Lebanon. The primary goal is to ensure safe program implementation, maintain humanitarian access, and foster positive relationships with key stakeholders within the Lebanese authorities.

Under the supervision of Livelihoods Program Coordinator, the Livelihoods Field Officer will play a pivotal role in implementing a project to support farmers in cultivating and harvesting crops after the provision of reclaimed lands. This position focuses on fostering women farmer engagement, establishing strong linkages among stakeholders, and creating cohesive community clusters to enhance productivity and sustainability. The officer will ensure the effective implementation of activities, capacity building, and stakeholder coordination to achieve project goals.
