Social Media Intern

Are you a fresh graduate or a current university student interested in social media and looking to develop your skills?
ONE WIG STAND is a non-profit organization based in Lebanon dedicated to improving the lives of women and families experiencing the hardships of breast cancer. We take a very hands-on approach to increasing awareness about the disease among young women while also providing support for breast cancer patients through our engaging campaigns. 
Our background in social media goes way back: One Wig Stand was initially launched as a blog and social media has played a major role in our work ever since. We are constantly developing new ways to engage the public and spread awareness through our online platforms. And the public has taken notice: for two years in a row, we have been featured as one of the top “Breast Cancer Blogs” by Healthline.com (2012 & 2013) and last year, we were one of the finalists in the “Best NGOs” category at the Social Media Awards. We’ve been actively working with the local and regional online community since our launch in 2010. 
To keep moving forward, we’re looking for a little help, which is where YOU come in: 
We’re looking for a social media/online community intern to join our team!
The internship will be a chance for you to learn how to (and test!) develop marketing strategies that boost interactions within the non-profit sector.
The role calls for a social media-fluent intern to be the “voice” of One Wig Stand on our social platforms. You should be a natural at using multiple social media platforms (with plenty of experience on Facebook, Twitter and Wordpress). But alongside all the fun and online socializing, you should also be highly responsible, a natural communicator and able to assess the effectiveness of your ideas.
The internship requires: 

A commitment of 2 months as of August (with flexible hours: more on that below) and a few hours to spare each week at our office in Achrafieh.
Excellent verbal and writing skills.
Friendly and respectful demeanor both online and offline. 
Being up-to-date on the latest online trends and constantly connected.
Generating fresh content for posts and image shares.
Supporting One Wig Stand’s team in promoting on-going campaigns and initiatives consistently across all platforms.
Brainstorming, developing and implementing online marketing initiatives.
Following-up on all platforms as well as monitoring and submitting weekly reports of progress (based on analytics).
Responding promptly and professionally to social media inquiries, which includes any comments and questions.
Communicating One Wig Stand’s tone of voice across different platforms effectively and adhering to our NGO guidelines.
Engaging an audience in conversations and encouraging interaction - not just likes!

Apply if:

You are currently in university or a fresh graduate and have some free time to spare during the week.
You are tech-savvy and connected to all major social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linked In, etc.).
You are an active blogger and are familiar with the Lebanese online community.
You have experience managing social media accounts for others (can be a school group, family business or something related to a hobby). Send us the links if so.
You are looking to build you portfolio as a community manager.
You want to learn more about online communication in a non-profit organization and help make a difference with your work.
You want to meet new people and expand your online network.
You are looking for a variety in your work.
You want to work in a creative atmosphere and enjoy being part of a team.
You are looking for a flexible work schedule. Interns will only need to be present at our office 3 days a week for 3 hours at a time (a schedule will be set based on the selected candidates’ background, availability and experience).
