Development Of An Illustrative Manual On Sustainable Agriculture Practices

During the months of February and March 2015, Mercy Corps facilitated the delivery of vocational training sessions on Sustainable Agriculture to a group of small farmers, mainly constituting of women beneficiaries in South of Lebanon.

With funding from the European Union, such training falls under ‘Fostering Self-Reliance for Displaced Syrians in South Lebanon’ (FORDS), which is a project implemented by Mercy Corps and Social, Humanitarian, Economical Intervention for Local Development (SHEILD.)

One of the main objectives of the program is to provide tools and educational material that will assist vocational training beneficiaries in employment opportunities.

For that purpose, Mercy Corps is looking to commission an organization to develop an illustrated manual on ‘Sustainable Agriculture Practices’ including ‘Financial Management’ that will be disseminated to 400 women in the South of Lebanon.

Selection Criteria:

Creativity and innovation of illustrative manual in terms of content, design, charts and illustrations with a clear outline. (40%) Previous experience in Sustainable Agriculture initiatives in South of Lebanon, with a particular focus on women farmers, whether in developing such manual or providing vocational trainings in this field. (40%) Evidence of qualified individuals with previous experience in such initiatives. (15%) Legal registration at the Ministry of Finance (5%)
