Social Worker

 
Job Summary: Medical Teams International is working to improve service delivery in 100 Syrian refugee settlements in the Bekaa Valley, in collaboration with local partners. In response to the LCRP and an increasing burden on PHC clinics, MTI is supporting PHC quality and subsidizing consultations and diagnostic tests.  This Zahle-based position is responsible for coordinating MTI’s PHC-related project management in the mental health field. MTI is looking to strengthen the mental health services offered in the PHC as well as conducting awareness sessions in the informal settlements.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

Detect, counsel and refer individual cases identified during psychosocial activities done in the PHC.
Properly assess and refer beneficiaries in need of mental health support/treatment to specialized services
Participate in training, conferences and attend meetings
Work with clinic staff to ensure identification of vulnerable beneficiaries and those in need of additional assistance or case management
Orient the patients to services available to them through MTI, UNHCR, and other stakeholders, and explain financial coverage and eligibility for PHC services.
Provide appropriate psycho-social support to beneficiaries in need.
Prepare awareness/training sessions about MHPSS for non-medical staff at PHCs, refugee community and host population.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

University degree in Social Work

Experience

A minimum of 2 years work experience in a similar field
Previous experience in the mental health is a must
