Background
The Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE) was founded in Lebanon by a number of activists in the public sector on March 13, 1996. LADE is a civil, independent and nonprofit organization specialized in elections and how closely they are linked to democracy. The association is concerned with monitoring the elections in their different forms as well as studying the electoral systems and laws according to the international democratic electoral standards, especially standards that guarantee free, fair and transparent elections.

1.Job Purpose:  To achieve LADE’s strategic goals and contribute to its vision through inspiring and leading LADE’s staff and volunteers

2. Dimensions:

3. Key Result Areas:

a.      Review and implementation of Strategic and action plans

-          Prepares draft plans and present to the Board and the general assembly for approval
-          Produces regular reports on the progress in achieving the goals and objectives

b.      Business development and fund raising

-          Establishes and maintains excellent relationships with Donors and external stake holders
-          Oversees the production of LADE’s marking kit/s and the production of proposals
-          Plans and implements fund raising activities

c.       Performance management

-          Develops a management performance plan that includes the results to be achieved by the departments, units and staff
-          Conducts performance appraisals for the direct subordinates and oversees the appraisals of all the staff and identifies performance gaps
-          Provides recommendations for the Board  to enhance performance

d.      Liaising with the Board and members

-          Maintains continuous consultations with the Board and attends Board meetings
-          Prepares for the organization of the general assemblies and participates in it
-          Maintains contacts with the members and responds to their queries and provides recommendations for the Board to enhance members’ active participation

e.       Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures

-          Produces draft policies and procedures and presents to the Board for approval
-          Ensures that all the concerned persons are aware of and understand these policies and procedures
-          Responds to  no-compliance situations and takes corrective measures

f.       Creating an enabling working environment

-          Promotes and instigates an enabling organizational culture
-          Manages and resolves conflicts among the staff and fosters a team spirit approach
-          Chairs regular and exceptional staff meetings
-          Champions social activities geared towards enhancing bonding among the staff

g.      Overall management of operations

-          Ensures the smooth day-to-day operations
-          Ensures the compliance with the Lebanese laws and regulations
-          Represents LADE’s management vis a vis Governmental, private sector, civil society and international organizations

4. Minimum Qualifications:

Education
-          Master degree in Management or any related field
-          Excellent command of Arabic and English, French is an asset
Experience
-          Between seven and ten years experience of which at least five years were in a managerial position and at least two years of work were on Elections related fields
Computer
Ability to use Microsoft office, ability to use project management and other software is an asset
