The classroom observers under Dirassa in partnership with UNICEF will be responsible for the monitoring of teaching modalities inside the classrooms in the assigned schools. They will be trained by world learning and responsible of completing assessment forms. Class-room observers will ultimately report back to IRC Education Officers on identified issues in the assigned locations/semi-private and/or private schools in BML. The position will be un-der the supervision of the Education Officer.

Within the framework of this project funded by PRM, IRC aims at empowering crisis affected populations including Syrian refugees and host community caregivers to enjoy and protect their rights and those of their families/ communities. IRC will mitigate vulnerabilities with a specific focus on removing legal barriers to education for vulnerable children. Legal services will be systematically provided to those involved in ECE and Education pro-grams and to the broader community.

Lebanon’s economic, political, and social contexts have been significantly impacted by multiple, concurrent crises since 2019. Already experiencing a financial crisis, a massive explosion in the Port of Beirut (POB) in August 2020 caused considerable loss of life and injury, displacement, physical damage to infrastructure, and further affected the country’s economic standings.

The COVID-19 pandemic and political deadlock worked to further deepen this crisis.

One of the IRC’s Child Protection core objectives is to strengthen the national child protection system to provide a quality response to children and families facing protection issues, whether in times of crisis or stable conditions.
