Research Manager For Middle East And North Africa Region

Integrity is looking to recruit a mid-level consultant as a Research Manager for project opportunities across the Middle East and North Africa region. The position will be primarily based in Gaziantep, Turkey. The scope of work includes:

Delivering high quality research and analysis on existing Integrity contacts;
Mentoring other researchers and analysts;
Ensuring that best research practices are built into our project work;
Working closely with project managers to ensure quality and on-time delivery of all research deliverables.
Expanding upon Integrity’s research capacity (methods, networks of consultants and contacts).

 
Terms of Reference:
A. Manage and coordinate the mapping of relevant service-providing stakeholders with Syrian-national team
This will include:
·     Managing a community coordinators within each area manager’s geographical area of responsibility
·     Defining workplans with each community coordinator and identifying key risks associated with that workplan
·     Ensuring that community coordinators have the skills and understanding of the programme to engage effectively with communities
·     Working with other members of the team to identify data needs and ensuring that these are clearly articulated for community coordinators
·     Ensuring the collection of data is performed in a consistent fashion so that data can be analysed effectively
·     Cleaning data wherever necessary to allow for data analysis by the Impact Management Sub-team
B. Carrying out research on Syrian governance structures
·     Conducting interviews via Skype and face-to-face with his/her own networks
·     Building on existing networks within Syrian governance structures
·     Desk-based research on secondary reports
·     Media monitoring where necessary
C. Likely inputs into Monitoring and Evaluation
·     Responsible for inputting into broader programme M&E, particularly feeding field site data to the M&E manager on a weekly basis
·     Ensuring Community Coordinators and Field Officers are fully aware of the M&E tools that they need to use, the timetable for monitoring and evaluation and the mechanisms for addressing poor reporting on the part of the community
·     Elevating issues with poor reporting and providing solutions to reporting issues
·     Contributing to evaluation exercises
·     Liaising, where necessary with external agents such as other donor funded programmes and the Assistance Coordination Unit
D. Analysis and contribution to report writing
·     Giving analytical contributions throughout the report writing process
·     Potentially contributing to report writing
Experience:
The candidate will have:
·     Experience working in the Middle East and North Africa;
·     Professional experience, specifically in research and analysis;
·     Demonstrable experience managing field research teams;
 
Competencies:The candidate will be able to:
·     Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex scenarios in operational planning and in reporting
 
Languages:
·     Proficiency in Arabic
·     Written and oral fluency in English
