Position Type:              Full-time
Reports To:                  SGBV Program Manager
Location:                      North Lebanon (with frequent travel to T5 and Akkar coast and mountains)

Summary: The SGBV Area Coordinator will ensure effective implementation of Heartland Alliance (HA)’s Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) project based on a results-oriented approach and in accordance with HAI and donor requirements. S/he will supervise project staff and affiliates and will ensure effective coordination and implementation of activities. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
           

Capacity building and case management supervision of case workers.
Participate in the planning and delivery of coaching sessions on SGBV and support the static and mobile safe spaces as needed. .
Participate in planning and development of all activities in consultation with the program manager and the partners.
Make sure all program activities based on the program objectives and intermediate results reflected in the implementation plan are implemented ensuring the timely delivery of a quality program.
Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the activities with partners and HAI team.
Report weekly and monthly on the work progress to the program manager.
Support and work closely with HAI SGBV program manager and SGBV program officer as well as with the community to ensure active coordination and follow up on the program sustainability.
Organize all related events including trainings and community meetings/events ensuring that participants are informed, event packages are prepared and all logistics are organized.
Attending coordination meetings with others actors.
Strongly collaborate with HAI M&E officer to evaluate progress towards expected project results according to the project performance monitoring framework, including monitoring of contracts/ project results of the partners and donors towards projected results documents and applies lessons learned to adjust the project implementation.

Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines.

Ability to work in Informal Tented Settlements (ITS) and other refugee hotspots. 
Ability to write reports succinctly.
Position is based in North Lebanon, with daily field-visits to the community centers, informal settlements and surrounding villages. 

 
Education: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Social Science field or any other related field.
 
Experience required: At least three years of experience in relevant field working in an emergency response contexts or fragile states. Expertise in gender, women’s rights and human rights is a must. Experience with vulnerable populations, including immigrant and refugee populations and SGBV survivors required; experience implementing start up projects a plus.. Ability to lead teams and mentor staff and supervise large teams deployed in field.
 
Language Skills:  Must have written and spoken fluency in English and Arabic.
 
Communication Skills: Strong coaching and training skills; ability to create and sustain a positive team dynamic. Listens and gets clarification, responds well to questions and feedback, participates in meetings, effectively communicate utilizing a variety of technologies such as phone or video phone (i.e. Skype), writes clearly and informatively, and edits work for spelling and grammar.
 
Computer Skills:  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by Heartland Alliance.
 
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
