Job Description

Project Title:   Our Safety, Our Priority: A Safe Space Model for Prevention and Sustainability of Protection in the North of Lebanon Project
Job Classification: Project coordinator
Reports To:                           SGBV Program Manager
Project duration:            4 months with a possibility of extension based on funding.
Location:                               North Lebanon    
 
About Heartland Alliance: Heartland Alliance (HA) advances the human rights and responds to the human needs of endangered populations—particularly the poor, the isolated, and the displaced—through the provision of comprehensive and respectful services and the promotion of permanent solutions leading to a more just global society. In Lebanon, HA provides holistic services focusing on psychosocial support, violence prevention, livelihoods strengthening and social cohesion to diverse vulnerable populations affected by the Syrian refugee crisis, including women and girls, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) individuals, and survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), torture and trauma.
 
Summary:
Strengthening the capacity of local actors and stakeholders in the prevention of gender-based violence through Heartland Alliance’s “Safe Space Model” with the aim of reducing the vulnerabilities of women and girls in the North of Lebanon.   
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
         
•      Participate in the planning and developing of training packages in coordination with HAI program manager.
•      Participate in planning and developing all in-center activities and outreach awareness sessions in consultation with the management of the organization and partners.
•      Implement all the program activities based on the program objectives and intermediate results reflected in the implementation plan, ensuring the timely delivery of a quality program.
•      Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the activities with social workers, psycho-therapist, peer support group women and the HAI driver/ logistician.
•      Report weekly and monthly on the work progress to the program manager.
•      Submission of field visits reports to the program manager.
•      Support and work closely with HAI program manager and the community to ensure active coordination and follow up on the program sustainability.
•      Organize all related events including trainings and community meetings/events ensuring that participants are informed, event packages are prepared and all logistics are organized.
•      Attending coordination meetings with others actors.
 
Qualifications: 
 
•      Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines.
•      Ability to work effectively within a team.
•      Ability to work in Informal Tented Settlements (ITS) and other refugee hotspots. 
•      Ability to write reports succinctly.
•      Position is based in the North; with frequent field-visits. 
 
 
Education: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Social Science field or any other related field.
Experience required: At least three years of experience in relevant field
Language Skills:  Must have written and spoken fluency in English and Arabic.
Communication Skills: Strong coaching and training skills; ability to create and sustain a positive team dynamic. Listens and gets clarification, responds well to questions and feedback, participates in meetings, effectively communicate utilizing a variety of technologies such as phone or video phone (i.e. Skype), writes clearly and informatively, and edits work for spelling and grammar.
Computer Skills:  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by Heartland Alliance.
