Call For Local Trainer In Ecological And Social Innovation For Switchmed Program

1-General Context:
The SwitchMed Program (www.switchmed.eu ) is a regional initiative financed by the European Union that aims to facilitate the shift towards more sustainable consumption and production methods in the Southern Mediterranean Region.  SwitchMed is implemented by the joint efforts of the SCP/RAC (Regional Activity Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production), UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), the UNEP-MAP (United Nations Environment Programme – Mediterranean Action Plan) and the UNEP-DTIE (Division of Technology, Industry and Economics).
As part of the implementation of the "Civil Society Empowerment Programme" in Lebanon, set up by the SCP/RAC and Green Line Association, a capacity building on Ecological and Social Innovation is being launched for CSOs. This program aims at empowering these initiatives.
2- Role of the Local Trainer:
The selected Local Trainer (LT) will, with a trainer from Green Line, take part in a regional co- creation workshop “Train the Trainer Program in Ecological and Social Innovation" scheduled to take place last week of October (25th-30th) in Barcelona, Spain. This training aims at empowering the role of civil society actors and initiatives in terms of social and environmental innovations, contributing to the shift towards more sustainable lifestyles.
Back in Lebanon, the LT, in partnership with experts from SwitchMed and the coordinator from Green Line, will prepare a 4 day workshop with 20 selected civil society actors. 2 best initiatives will be selected from this workshop. Those initiatives will receive support from SwitchMed.
3- What do we expect from Local Trainers?

To have experience in  facilitating  training workshops for groups

To have some knowledge or interest in training methodologies based on the idea of empowerment, collective learning, participative approach, etc.
To have some experience in initiating, implementing or evaluating environmentally and socially innovative projects
 To be interested in promoting the role of civil society as pioneer in looking for alternative ways of producing, living, consuming, trading, etc.
 To be familiar with the current context in the country, concerning civil society organisations, social movements or empowered groups in areas such as sustainable consumption and production, social economy, collaborative economies, food sovereignty, etc.
A good knowledge of the English language will be a relevant  asset (it is important to facilitate work with the coordination team). Arabic and/or French will be important for the facilitation of the National Workshops.
To have previous experience working in teams and collaborating with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds
