Senior Advocacy Associate
The European Centre for Democracy and Human Rights (ECDHR - http://www.ecdhr.org/) seeks a dynamic and experienced senior advocacy associate ready to help plan and execute advocacy strategies that advance support for human rights in GCC and the MENA Region. This position reports to the Executive Director and is located in Beirut.

Responsibilities:
Outreach to the NGO and Think Tank Community/Government
Serve as primary point of contact for interactions with government officials, NGOs and think tanks, as well as with key missions and other mechanisms at the U.N.
Develop and strengthen relationships with the NGO and think tank community; Represent ECDHR at coalition meetings, conferences and events
Attend relevant events to keep up with the latest policy developments and to represent ECDHR's interests
Monitor human rights abuses and other developments in the region, particularly as they relate to ECDHR’s advocacy and government affairs outreach
Project Management
Develop and execute coordinated NGO advocacy campaigns addressing human rights and policy issues of interest to ECDHR scope of work
Research, analyze, and synthesize information and data about the human rights situation in the region to accurately document violations and develop advocacy initiatives
Research and author reports, white papers, briefing memos, letters, and other advocacy materials
Manage and execute ECDHR’s grant and projects
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage staff and interns
Implement projects assigned by the executive director, who will not be in the office
Qualifications and Skills:
2-3 years of experience
MA in international relations, international law, public policy, or related field a plus
Prior experience working in a government affairs and/or advocacy capacity is desired
Demonstrated experience with online advocacy, research and report writing preferred
A proven track record of strong project management, including planning and execution of advocacy strategies
Ability to prioritize, implement and deliver high-quality advocacy programs, sometimes within tight timelines and with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative working environment
Strong knowledge of the Gulf region and human rights preferred
Proficiency in Arabic, English, and French (reading, writing, and speaking)
