The Association for Forests, Development and Conservation (AFDC) is a non–profit, non-governmental organization established in 1993 aiming to achieve sustainable conservation of natural resources, raise awareness and build capacities that contribute to the national efforts for better environmental management. Fundamental to AFDC’s mission is the pursuit of community-based conservation for the sustainable advancement of people’s livelihoods. AFDC works at a national level and has volunteers units all over the country. AFDC implements four programs that promote and foster among others sustainable use of primary natural resources, rural development, emergency response and relief work, rehabilitation of degraded natural landscapes, reforestation, forest fire management, Eco-tourism, environmental education, advocacy and capacity building.
